Chapter 3

"We're just gonna see how well your brain works." A man wearing a mask hopelessly tried to put a weird contraption onto my head. "Weird wires sticking out of a helmet...no thanks." He put it to the side, and stated into my eyes. "What are you trying to do? Hypnotize me? Three people have already tried it, and guess what happened to them," I let my hand ignite, and I brought my hand to his face. "Okay! I get your point! Keep that away from me freak!" He yelled getting to his feet and backing away from me. "Bring me to him! Now!" I screamed, and my wings flew open and my body was nothing but flame, and rage. "Bring you to who?!" He screamed cowering in a corner of the cell. "Domanik."

"Let me out! Let me out right now you stupid, inconsiderate, waste of time asshats! I demand you let me go you dumbfu-" I was stopped by a painful hit to the face. "Aw now those aren't nice things to say, you wouldn't want your lover to pay for your putrid words now would you?" Mr. Hernandez said holding my face unbearably close to his. "Let me go pease, let me see him." I whimpered fighting back tears. "Of course you can see him, it can be your punishment." He smirked, and with a snap of his fingers two big men had me in their grasp and I was strapped to a chair, and a helmet with wires was strapped to my head. "Let's see how your brain works."

"Mr. Hernandez! She's done it again!" The giant devil woman yelled out. "Oh, hello my angel. Being stubborn again? Now sweetie, you wouldn't want us to punish you twice today now would you?" He said with a sarcastic tone in his voice. I backed away, and let the flames die down. "Fine, I'll play nice." Mr. Hernandez picked up the contraption and strapped it to my head. "Now, shall we begin?" He grabbed a folder filled with papers, and sat down. "Don't speak, now take a look at these images." The first image was a park, the second a home in the woods, the third a fire, everything got worse and worse, images of death flashed before my eyes and I could almost hear screams coming from children. "Stop!" I yelled trying to cast a flame, but instead a shock went through my body starting from my head, and everything turned black.

"Stop! Stop! Please stop! Stop hurting him! Stop!" I screamed, tears sizzling down my cheeks. "Leave him alone!" The images of what happened that day flashed on a screen, and replayed in my head. I remember it all too well. We were lying on the couch together, and I was curled up in his arms, and all of a sudden I got a call on my phone saying I was chosen, but I didn't know what it was about so I ignored it. Several minutes later we heard a knock on our door, I got up and opened it to find agents dressed in black. They grabbed me and started dragging me away, I screamed for Domanik and he ran to my rescue. I had never seen him fight, he had a knife in one hand, and one of the agents in the other. "Let her go! Let her go now!" He yelled, and killed whoever got in the way of me and him. He was almost in my reach until I heard gunfire, and he collapsed.

"Domanik! No!"
