Nobody's POV

Two identical twins sit outside a hospital room, not saying a word to one another, but sharing worried looks with each other every once in awhile, the air around them practically daring them to speak to one another about what has happen. After what feels like an eternity to the two, a doctor walks out of the room with a sad sympathetic expression on his face. The twin closest to the door stands, looking hopeful, the other slumps down slightly in their chair, almost in tears.
"She didn't make it," he says, "I'm so sorry, we did everything we could, her injuries were too severe"
The twin standing in front of the doctor loses what little bit of hope she has left in her eyes, as the other simply stands up and walks over to the doctor.
"You didn't save her," she says angrily, "so you didn't do everything"
"Ms. Gore, not everyone can be saved, I am truly sorry, you have my condolences" the Doctor says
"You're wrong! There's no way that there wasn't some way to save her!" She says, practically yelling now
"Astrid," the other twin says calmly, "please don't yell at the doctor, he only means well"
Astrid glares at her sister slightly, but quiets down.
"Does our father know?" The other twin asks, ignoring her sister's glare.
"Yes, he does... he's in the room now," the doctor replies, "now I must go, I am needed in a different room"
After the doctor walks off, Astrid stands up and looks at her sister.
"Why did you tell me to stop, Acacia?" She asks her sister, her voice laced with anger
   Acacia looks at her twin.
"You know that dad can do enough damage for the all of us, and I didn't think you'd want to get your hands dirty" she says, then walks into the hospital room

The previous day

The twins head down the streets of Gotham together, on their way home from school.
Astrid is wearing a simple dark blue dress, with black converse, and her hair in a braid that goes from one side of her head to the other.
Acacia is in a black shirt with a well known classic rock band on it, black ripped jeans, red vans, with a plaid red t-shirt wrapped around her waist, and her hair in a messy bun.
"I'm so done with mom," Astrid says, glancing at the enterprise building across the street, "she just expects so much from us, and it's too much"
"I think it's best to just let her be, the woman goes through enough already, I mean, we are a lot to handle" Acacia says
"I know, but that doesn't mean she can force us to become as great as she wishes she was," Astrid adds, "or as she wishes she had tried to be"
Acacia shakes her head slightly, sighing, "you guys will never stop butting heads will you?"
"No," Astrid says, "I don't believe we will"
"You know," her twin replies, "one day you'll regret arguing with her so much"
Never did Acacia, or Astrid, think it would be that day.
Almost as if it was waiting for its cue line, an explosion was heard from the enterprise building that was now a block away.
Acacia quickly turned around, and after a quick glance at her twin, they both started sprinting towards the noise.
"Wasn't today the day that mom had to go check the labs in that building?" Acacia said in a sort of frantic tone
"It was" Astrid replied, as Acacia slid herself to a stop, watching the flaming building, almost making her sister run right into her
Everything appeared in slow motion to the two twins, the Gotham fire department was soon on the scene, trying to contain the huge lab fire.
Suddenly two figures appeared above, going straight into the fire.
These two were Batman and Robin.
"Acacia, look! Do you think they can save her?" She said her scared voice now covered in a layer of hope
"I think they can!" Acacia says optimism laced through her frantic thoughts and sound

A/N

I just want to give a quick shoutout to addict_with_a_quill for helping me make, pretty much all of, my stories possible.

I am very thankful that you let me bounce all of my awful ideas off of you and help me make them better than they are at first.

I would also like to add that I will not be doing a boat load of author's notes, just a few here and there for when I believe they are important.

Nobody, out ✌️
