Derek picked me and James up and there was a bit of an awkward silence. They started their own little sidebar conversation. I turned on the radio and jammed out to You Make Me Feel by Cobra Starship. When I finished we were at Natalie's house, so we walked in. We were late so there were people lining up to get some shots. The party was awesome and I had made a play list for the party. Right now TGIF by Katy Perry was playing on the stereo. The lights were pumping and the dance floor was flashing all kinds of crazy colors. Then Rock Yo World by Indigo Vanity came on and the lights went insane.
"Vanessa?"
"Yeah, Derek?"
"Do you want to dance?"
"I would love to." I said grabbing his hand a leading him to the dance floor. Right when we got their my jam came on.
"LISTEN TO THIS TRACK BITCH. GIRL THE WAY YOU MOVING GOT ME IN TRANCE." I said screaming along with Waka Flocka.
"Wait, hold up." Derek said loud enough to hear over the music.
"Yeah?" I said
"You like Waka Flocka?"
"DUH!" I said. Why guys never understood why like him was beyond me. Before the conversation could go any farther I put his hands my hips, while he guiding me into a rhythm that he liked. I had to admit for a guys he was a pretty good dancer which made it all the easier to get lost in the music, by the time I was ready to go get a drink let just say I felt someone or I mean something was poking my hip. I turned around to see a very embarrassed looking Derek.
"I'm so sorry." he said his cheeks turning even more pink, which just made me want to kiss him senseless, for being so respectful, not many guys were like that anymore.
"It's fine you're a guy. I get it." I said throwing in a wink for good measure.
"Do you want to go get a drink?" I asked trying to change the subject. He must of caught my drift because he agreed.
"Yeah, do you mind covering me up when we walk." he said once again embarrassed. I just agreed silently we made our way out of the sweaty dance floor, full of teens my age.
We mad our way into the kitchen were Natalie and James were obviously flirting. That made me a little angry, not because I was jealous but because Natalie and Jack in my mind were suppose to fall in love. They never admitted it, but they had some major chemistry, or at least in my mind they did.
"Hey beautiful I couldn't resist to stay away." He said turning his charms towards me. Even though his date was right beside him. James is such an idiot.
"I know I'm beautiful, but I actually needed a drink not a face full of ugly." I said with a smirk. I then reached into the fridge. "Derek what do you want?"
"Do they have a Bud Light?" he asked.
"Yeah," I reaching for one, as well as getting a Smirnoff for myself.
"Has she showed you her mixing skills yet Derek." Natalie said speaking for the first time.
"Her what skills?" Derek questioned practically spilling out his Bud Light.
"This girl here makes the best mix drinks in the whole Smithsonian High." She said in a matter of factly way, while I held down a blush.
"Oh really?" He said obviously amused.
"YUP! Her tequila Sunrise make your taste buds pop lock and drop it." She said giggling. Ugh I hated her.
"Vany is that the only thing you can mix?" said James being a perv.
