I awoke to the humming of a monitor and a major headache. That's when I remember the stupid fight and the stupid dresser that had fallen on me. Stupid person for pushing me. When I see him I swear I was gonna beat the crap of his sorry self. Okay maybe not since it was Derek after all and he was to sweet for his own good, but that didn't stop me from being pissed as heck. When I opened my eyes finally ugh the light the light it burns . I thought over dramatically. That's when I noticed somebody's finger laced with mine as my traveled up the obviously muscled arm when I saw James eyes. He looked shocked to seen me awake. he then proceeded to snatch his hand away. Now you would think at that moment when I saw his hand through mine my heart would've melted, and it sorta maybe did. Though I acted like it didn't and instead I said
"What the hell James? Why are you touching me?"
"Good morning to you too sleeping beauty." He said regaining
"Ugh what ever James. How long have I've been out?" I said pushing my self up ever so slightly.
"Um let me call your doctor. " He said almost too casually.
"James I swear its not that big of a deal just tell me a couple hours a day?" I said questioningly.
"Vanessa, no like I seriously need to call your doctor he said to get him if you woke up." He said urgently
"Okay fine, what ever. " I replied blatantly.
As James went out into the hall I couldn't help but wonder how long I'd been out.
When he came back in the doctor who I guess had been attending to me walked in.
"Hello miss I'm Dr. Caso. I'm glad to see your awake. I think this boyfriend of yours was getting quite impatient. If I must say."
I scoffed at that, James would never be my boyfriend.
"He's not my boyfriend." I stated simply.
"Oh I'm sorry. I just figured since he's come everyday to check up on your condition that he would be."
The doctor stated like it was obvious.
"Oh honey don't deny are love I know you bonked your head but don't you remember all those long passionate nights." James said speaking for the first time since the doctor entered.
"James I bonked my head but I'm pretty sure not that hard." I said sarcastically.
That's when I heard the doctor clear his throat.
"Well miss you did bonk your head pretty hard. Just not the part that would effect your judgement or memory." He said casually making me laugh lightly.
"See James I'm not crazy." I said shaking my head.
"Oh my beautiful you will realize one day that we are meant to be." James said winking.
" Okay well doc since my stalker wouldn't answer me how long have I've been out." I said completely ignoring James comment of his oh so charming ways.
"Well miss you've been out 3 and 1/2 weeks."
"WHAT?!" I yelled.
"Well miss when you bonked," the doctor said using my lame vocabulary "your head you slightly in simple terms bruised your Cerebellum. Which is the part of your brain that controls some coordinated movements such as returning a tennis serve. As a result you mind and body fellt the need to rest. We not sure if this may affect your reflexes in anyway, but you may notice your movements maybe a delayed in away. Though in time your body will recover fully. There is a ten percent chance this doesn't happen and if that happens you will need to see a physical therapist." The doctor said casually almost making me want to smack him, but I controlled the urge after all it wasn't his fault.
"What does this means in terms of my recovery?" I said wondering if I'd become more stupider than I currently was.
"Well you seem to be fine, of course we will still need to evaluate you but in a week or two you should be ready to go back to school. This of course is only we deem good for your health. You probably will need to take it easy for now. No sports, no running, no jumping, no dancing, no drinking , no smoking of any sort, preferably if you have stairs in your home I would suggest going up and down at a minimum for the time being. Also I would suggest some such as your parents or legal guardian watch over you."
I sighed this seemed like torture. Then I remembered the last part and practically wished to be dead. My parents, that was a joke more like to people who barely new I existed. I mean sure, they raised me but once I turned 13 I was practically disowned.
"Okay doctor." Was all I could get to come out of my mouth.
"And you will need to visit a Neurosurgeon weekly for one months at minimum. Then once every month for a year. We can never be to sure about these things." He said practically dictating my life until I graduated which would be next school year.
"Fine." I said breathy and shocked.
How one accident could ruin my rest of my high school life was beyond understanding.
" I know this a lot to take in so I will make sure to ask my nurses to right down all this down and give you some names of great Neurosurgeon. If you have any more question feel free to ask." With that he left my room leaving me in a mess of emotions. I wanted to cry my eyes out but I simply couldn't remembering James was still in the room.
"Hey are you okay?" he asked almost like he cared to know.
"James WHAT THE HECK DO YOU THINK?" I said screaming losing all composure. The water works started. I felt almost instantly come to my rescue hugging me while I cried like a baby. Never in my life would I have thought I would be crying my heart out on the shoulder of James Karian. While he actually comforted me in his strong arms. And for once something in my life felt nice. Even if I have to g\go to Neurosurgeon after Neurosurgeon, I'll be fine.
