Letter to my mother

Dear mom,
Thank you

I thank you from the depth of my heart,
Thank you for those all nine months before my birth.
Thank you for taking the pain in bringing me up.

Thank you for holding my hand as I took my first step
Thank you for being with me
All those times I needed you the most.

Mom, you were the first person I saw
When I opened my little eyes.
You are the only person who believed me, when others thought that I lied.

Mom, how do you know everything even before I tell you?
My likes, dislikes, my mood swings, my anger,my sadness.
You know just how to deal with them.
And I love you for that.

Do you remember that day when I failed in a test and was very upset?
But you came to me and said "your failure is your next step to success".
Your little words gives me the strength to face any problems till date.

That day, when I shouted at you for no reason, and made you cry.
Was the worst day of my life.
I regret it and even more I regret that I never said the simple word 'sorry'.
I harmed your feelings with my rude words
I disappointed you with my choices of life.

But you, you never left my side.
You pray for me day and night
I know it, mom. I always did.
I knew that if I fall one day
I will always have your protection.
The kind of protection that I always loved.

I love you mom.
For everything you did for me.
I just took you too much for granted.
To tell you that.

And today I saw a friend lose her mother to death.
A realised what losing you would mean to me.
So thank you mom.
Before it's too late.

Happy mother's day!!

I know this is less like a poem but when I started writing I couldn't stop and I wrote my heart out. I think this is because I love my mom that much.

People thank your beautiful mother for all those things she has done for you. You have a mother, do you realise how lucky you are.

Just thank her today before you regret not doing so tomorrow.
