10 years later

Mika's POV

Today is my 14th birthday, I have gotten better and had gotten the okay signal that allowed me to walk around in the garden behind the hospital. Truthfully speaking, I love and hate the hospital.

I love it because I wouldn't be alive today if it weren't for this hospital. I hate hospitals because I have had a lot of friends that shared my room and they all died, the hospital couldn't save them. I've learned to just not become friends with anyone if they would all just die on me.

Well, mom hasn't visited me in 7 months so I was mad at her for the whole time. Yesterday was like she had just remembered that she had a daughter, I can't blame her though. She finally found someone to love and I couldn't keep her away from him, it would be mean to do.

Yesterday when she came to visit me, she wouldn't stop apologizing to me so I had to forgive her. She was my mom and visited me as much as she could, I couldn't stay mad at her.

Today was the happiest day of my life, I was okay enough to live at home with my brothers and my new sister. She is the daughter of the guy that mom is marrying, she has also lived with my brothers these past 4 months too.

I wonder how she handled them, I heard from mom a long time ago that they were a lot to deal with. I'll meet her soon anyway, mom and my new dad are picking me up today and bringing me home.

They should be here in about 10 minutes so I walked back to my room and changed into some casual clothes that I picked out from online and a nurse brought them to me when they arrived.

I just finished putting my notebooks and drawing supplies into a box when mom and dad came in.

"Mika, this is your new father. His name is Rintarou Hinata, you can refer to him as dad," mom said as dad gave a light wave with a smile.

I simply nodded and smiled back. I turned around to pick up a box but before I could grab one, dad picked one up and mom grabbed the other. They were both quite small as I didn't have a lot of room to put things in my small hospital room. I grabbed the small backpack with my most important things in it and followed them out.

I smiled at their happy smiles as they walked side by side together. I just couldn't resist the smile from coming to my face, I couldn't stay mad at her forever.

We got off on the bottom floor and went out the front door, we all walked to the car in silence and put my boxes into the trunk. I got into the back seat as they sat up front with dad at the wheel.

'What will my brothers think of me? Will my new sister like me? Will I be able to get along with everybody?' I felt like I was going to give myself another attack so I stopped quickly.

'No, they haven't met me yet. They will get used to me. They will like me, it will just be a shock to just find out that they have had a sister for 14 years already. Yeah, they will like me.' My thoughts calmed down and I was fine, no more risk of another attack.

I was a little tired from the days events so far so I leaned back and closed my eyes, 'I'll just take a short nap.'

~30 minutes later~

I woke up to hear my name being called. I sat up and gave a yawn and rubbed my eyes to see my new dad smiling down towards me. I gave him a smile back and grabbed my backpack, climbing out of the car.
