Self-Destruction

Ava sat against her bed. She wondered what might've been. She occasionally wished she had been murdered that night instead of raped. But no. She was too unlucky for that.
Ava opened her drawer. She pulled out a gun and looked at it. The safety lock was on. No bullets were inside. She hoped she'd never have to use it in any way during her life but yet - here she was.
Feeling empty. Feeling alone. Feeling soulless. She never understood how much these things could hurt a person until she went through it herself and she's only felt worse. Ava would never open herself up to people regularly. But she was too open to trying new things, becoming a new person. Ditching her introverted lifestyle and just talking to people. But it had all seemed but a dream. And now it isn't even that. Because the dreams she was so unlucky to have were a relay of not what might've been, but what had to have happened...
Maybe her emptiness shows everyone something. Don't toy with people. Don't talk to them if you have nothing nice to say. Just because you are upset or angry... Doesn't mean other people deserve the same hatred you've been dished out. It's important to realise how delicate human emotions really are. The next time you go to someone and call them something horrible. Shove them. Throw them. Laugh at them. Remember they are just as human as you - although... if you do this stuff... they might be even more human than you are.

Ava put the bullets into the gun, and turned off the safety lock. She put it directly to her head and whispered to herself.

"3..."

*KNOCK KNOCK*
Lilly and Jack came rushing in to her, clearly hearing what was going on from outside. They comforted her. Took the gun, threw it away. And any other weapons. They reassured her that everything would be OK. That's probably all she needed. She talked it out with Jack and Lilly. They convinced her to tell the Police about it. At first, the Police said that he seemed to have moved to a different location. But that didn't stop them because for the first time, Ava had hope again. Not because they could issue justice upon Ace. Just because Ava had people to help her and didn't feel as empty as before.

"Ace has been found. He's been apprehended and will be serving life in prison. Not only for rape, but for the murder of Kayla Vera the same night. And that's her birth-name."

-- 6 Months Later...

Ava walked through the hallway, smiling at people as she walked past. Lilly and Jack joined her, they hung out after College, they had fun. Ava was included in a group of friends.
Ended up becoming a famous story writer.
