"The breeze feels nice doesn't it, ne, Hajime?"

———

Her smile was something I've missed so badly.

When her dimples would show when she grinned, her fragrance even after school, it was really something I've adored till the end.

I've only seen her once, but I've known her for years.

For so long I yearned to see her face more than once.

But...

--

I think it happened a bit before summer started.

A light tingle of the summer air can be felt when I went out of my class and turned to a hallway where the windows were open to let the warm breeze in.

I take a deep breath and smile, looking out in the horizon. A forest was just beside our school, a tall tree, which has been standing for decades, in the middle which always reminded me of one of my favorite movies. Totoro.

I've always believed that totoro was real, but now that i think back, it was really silly of me to think a fictional character were real. But maybe somebody really is living in the forest, a spirit maybe?

"Daydreaming again?"  A voice interrupts my line of thinking, followed by a light laugh.

"I didn't notice you, Oikawa." I lightly laugh, the summer breeze lightly passes on my skin.

"Summer's right around the corner, any plans, (First name)-chan?" He grinned as he went near the window, looking over to the forest.

"I'm staying here for the summer, my parents are coming back." I informed him, following his gaze.

"That tree has been there even before our ancestors were born, can you believe it?" He exclaimed, a light smile on his face.

"It's amazing. It's too surreal." I heave out a short sigh, closing my eyes and taking in the scent of the breeze.

"Let's go to class." He laughs, eyes meeting with mine as he led the way to our next class.

--

"Wanna walk home together?" The brunette suggested, a light smile on his face as he placed one arm around me.

"Actually... I wanted to check out the forest." I pointed at the huge tree standing in the middle of the forest. It always stands out but nobody actually dared to go since it might be haunted.

"A head start before summer huh?" Oikawa lightly laughed, "You wanna go together?" He winked.

I smiled warmly, "If it's not a bother."

"Why should it be a bother?" He laughs, "I'm your childhood friend, now boyfriend." He waves his arm around, gesturing.

"You always sound too proud about it." I laugh. "Why wouldn't I be?" He smirks leaning closer.
