I walked onto the stage and looked around. Every one and I mean EVERYONE was staring at me. I cautiously walked up to the stone and lightly tapped it. Once I tapped it....
Nothing happened. "Put your hand on it! Don't tap it!" One of the new dragon riders said behind me. I placed my hand on it and it started to glow. But when the other dragon riders touched it, it glowed an emerald color. Mine glowed a diamond color. Everyone stared at it with Aww.
After about 2 minutes I pulled back my hand. I felt a hand on my shoulder and because I have quick reflexes, I triped them with my leg, pulled out my dagger and when they were on the ground I got on top of them with the dagger to their neck. The boy stiffened. "Y-you can get off now." He said kinda shakily. I got off of him and put my dagger in my boot. "Nice reflexes." I nodded not wanting to say anything.
After about 5 minutes of everyone whispering and gossiping and my mother sobbing, I watched as the Mayor dismissed everyone. "Since your the only girl," the Mayor turned to me, "Go pack your things." All of the boys looked at me. "NO FAIR!" One yelled. "Don't worry. You all get to take a family photo or something you like. She gets to pack because the Academy all of you have to go to, isn't suppose to have girls, so of course each dorm has boy stuff in it." They nodded in understanding but the boy who thought it was unfair still thought it was. I quickly rushed home and started to pack. I didn't bother packing girly crap. The only thing girly you could possibly find in my bag was a brush and some hairties. And of course shower stuff. As I finished I put in a family photo and a stuffed animal that reminded me of him. I also grabbed my coloring book and pencils and walked out. "I'm ready," I mumbled. For being a girl you would think I would be the last one out and ready. I apparently was the first one. "Please wait here." I heard someone say. I turned to my right and saw a boy. I remember seeing him on stage. He had short, dirty blond hair, brown eyes, and always smiled. He was telling a dog to stay. I guessed his dog. When the dog finally stayed he walked over to where me and supposedly the two people who would take us to the Academy were. "Sorry about that. Chica doesn't like it when I'm away and she can't come." He said. I looked at his dog. I could see why he named it Chica. It had yellow fur as if it was blond but a lot more yellow. More like a ducks color.
"Nice dog." I said. "Thanks!" He smiled more from my compliment. He realized I wasn't smiling and his smile was going down but stopped halfway between a smile and a frown. "Why aren't you smiling?" He asked. "I don't smile that much." I said, sternly. "I see you ain't like those perfect picture ladies around town." I nodded. I wasn't a perfect picture lady who's always wearing a skirt or dress, who always smiled, hell I wouldn't be a 'wife' either. Apparently until your husband dies or you guys split you have to do every single chore until you get a child, that was female. And that female child helps around the house and gets ready to become a wife.
After everyone was ready to leave we had an 'introduction'. Aka, we meet everyone. I of course went last. "Hello everyone. I am Luke and this is Caden. Caden and I will be taking you to the Academy." One of the people who were taking us, called Luke, said. Caden just nodded.
Then it was the blonde. "I am Mason." Then the boy who wore glasses beside him spoke up. "Hi. I am Kiosk." Then the guy who stood on my left spoke. "I am Jack." Everyone turned to me. "Arabell." I said. Everyone just stared at me. "Anything else?" I thought and thought. "Arabell or Ara but I prefer Arabell." I said. Everyone nodded.
Caden and Luke whistle and we all looked around before hearing a huge 'Rawr' from the sky. We all looked up and saw two dragons flying down. These dragons were huge. One was as black as night and the other one was as blue as the sea. Everyone got onto one. Caden, Kiosk and Jack got onto the black one while Luke and Mason got on the blue one. "Gonna get on Arabell?" Mason asked me. I nodded. But I didn't walk up to them. Instead I walked past them closer to the woods like someone was calling my name.
