I awoke on a bed. Where am I? I looked around and realized I was in the small hospital they have. I saw baby dragons, injured dragons, and other humans. "Aww. Your up!" Someone said. I looked at the person and they looked like a doctor. "Don't worry. What happened to you is normal." I stared at him confused. "I'm guessing you don't know." I nodded. "I shouldn't be the one telling you. Maybe Caden. The Great would be best." I nodded again. For some reason when I tried to talk, I couldn't. "Well, it's time for you to go. The Dragon Ceremony is about to start in 10 minutes so I would hurry." I got up and looked around.
I decided to go up to a newborn dragon. I awwwed seeing it. "Isn't she a cutie?" I turned around and I guess my expression was weird because he chuckled. "I got her when I first came here and it took her a little while to hatch but she wouldn't grow like normal dragons. I guess she's waiting." He said. "Cool. Well I have to get going." He nodded. "Yah, if you need to get to the Dragon Ceremony I can take you." "That would be awesome, since I don't know where anything is really." I said. "By the way, my name is Hunter." He said with a slight grin. "Arabell."
We walked out of the small hospital. On the way we laughed, talked, and we some how got to the Legend of the Dragon Queen. I don't really know why the Legend is called that.
"So do you know about the Legend of the Dragon Queen?" He asked me. "No. I was hoping to go to the Great and learn about it there." He nodded. This boy sure do like to nod, I giggled at my own thought. "What's funny?" "Nothing!" I said quickly.
We finally got to the Dragon Ceremony place. I saw Tyler and them. "Where have you be- Why are you with him?!?" Ty said/asked. "I have been in the small hospital and I'm with him because I was admiring his dragon in the hospital and he offered to take me to here since I didn't know my way. Got a problem?" I said snappy. "Ye- No!" He said. "Welp, see ya around!" He nodded once again and left. "Okay people! Starting in 3 minutes! Places!" Everyone started to line up on the stage.
After about 2 minutes, the whole Academy came. "Attention People! Today is the Dragon Ceremony!" Everyone clapped and cheered. "There will be a few eggs passed out every 3 minutes." They started to pass out every egg. I sighed as it came down to 10 people. They only had 3 more eggs, so that would would mean 7 people would go home. "It was nice knowing you all!" Everyone, including me, said. I saw Ty glare at me. After the last 3 were passed out, there was 6 people, besides me, still standing. "I am so terrible sorry for you 7 but pack your bags. You all are going back home." We all nodded and started to walk off stage.
"WAIT! WE STILL HAVE ONE MORE EGG!" Someone called out. I realized it was Caden. We all got back in our line and they passed out the egg. It was black, like midnight, with white spots on it. It got down the line and it hasn't claimed someone yet. I watched as it was too heavy for some but a little heavy for others. I could tell it was really hard to hold it. I was so nervous at the moment!
It got to me and when I held it, it wasn't as heavy as I thought it would be. I felt a strong pull from it. I started to pet it. I giggled as it moved around and tickled me. When someone would try to take the Dragon Egg from me I wouldn't let them. I stood there just messing around with the egg. "Come on Arabell. Give it back!" Caden said. I shook my head. "No! It is mine!" I said. I ran off stage with it and when I was about out of there Tyler stopped me. "Arabell. Stop this. This isn't your dragon!" He said and chuckled. "You are never gonna get a dragon Ara." He said. What he said hurt me. "Yah Arabell. Come on, give it back!" It was Caden this time. "No!" I screamed and ran around but I would be stopped when I tried to exit.
I was running around and trying to find a place to hide when the egg started to wobble, like it was gonna hatch. "Shh. Just please stay in there. Hold tight." I said calmly. I realized I was cornered. The egg wouldn't stop wobbling. "Give us back the egg!" Everyone said. I crouched down with the egg close to my chest screaming "No!" And crying. Until I felt scales. I looked at the Dragon and it dropped out of my hands and out of the Egg shell. The Dragon roared at them.
