Chapter 17: Avery's p.o.vIts sunday morning, and all I want to do is sleep. I mean who wouldent? But ever since last night Grey flipped a switch that's all I could think about.after he dropped me off last night I reached for the handle and looked back at him and he was just on his porch looking at me with a God danm smirk plastered on his face which dident help at all because I melted like jelly inside and had many internal swooning moments. Get the picture? Mhm..yeah you do.
So now I'm laying on my bed, scrolling through Instagram on my phone and drinking hot lemon water.
While I'm looking at celebs without eyebrows, my mom comes in and sits beside me. "So honey- what are you looking at?"
"Celebs without eyebrows.. what else?"
"Okey then.. well Grey's mom and I have a buisness trip to attend to on the island in Victoria. We are going for a week and we thought that maybe you and Grey would like to come with us."
"Actually?" I say in disbelief. My mom never. And i mean ever let's me go on her trips.
"Well it was ms.Mattews idea and she convinced me"
"When do we leave?"
"In like an hour or so."
"An hour? I have to pack!" I yell and frantically run around my room collecting everything I need.
Toothbrush check
Bathing suit check
Pajamas check
Phone check
Rubber ducky.....just kidding. Okay maybe I'm not. Check
After a very stressful packing session we are now outside waiting for Grey to find his hair jell.. yup this is what society has become.
"I found it!" Grey yells jogging out the door.
"Okay kids. We thought since we would probably bore you to death you two can drive down together, just make sure to use the GPS." With that me and Grey pack our things into his car and hop in, and starting our long drive. We knew that we wouldent make it there till really late because it's a nine hour drive and so we made sure to bring pillows and some things to keep us busy. While driving the trafic wasent so bad so we make it out of the province withing four hours tops.
"I declare that before were in the middle of nowhere and we're in Langley now, we need to get McDonalds." Grey says and makes a u- turn down the street.
"Hi there welcome to McDonald's what can i get you?"
"Yeah can i get two big Mac meals, one with no onion or sauce..oh and hold the pickles." Grey says. "Oh and two cokes please" Greys always been picky with his foods and he will. Not. Eat Sauce.
"Okay that will be 14.50 and the next window please. "
"You get crumbs on my baby and I will eat you." He says to me in a stern voice.
"Eat me?" I ask confused.
"Well yeah. I mean I don't have the stomach to kill you, so it's the next best thing." Oh my lord...
For most of the drive there we blasted music, ate junk food, told stories, and I may have snuck in a nap too. I look over at the road and Grey makes a sudden turn down a road, when the directions say to go straight.
"Grey what are you doing?"
"We're going for a swim." He says like it's no big deal.
"A swim? Grey were in the mountains."
"I know, but there's a hot spring just down the road here. Trust me I've been here before." We drive for about ten minutes up a dirt road and when we stop the view was breathtaking. In front of us was a large blue lake with steam rising from the shore. We were on a bit of a cliff so you could see a perfect veiw of the mountains still covered with snow. On the side there was rocks that had Water falling. Everything was amazing. After getting out we changed into our bathing suits, behind different trees obviously.
When I first dipped my feet in the water, a rush of warmth filled me and i felt like I was being wrapped in a heated fur blanket. As I made it further into the water, my body and mind became more relaxed and I just wanted to drift off into sleep. You know that feeling when your really tierd and sore and so you take a really hot shower and just stand there and let the water rush over you? Yeah that's how I felt in this very moment.
As I sat there in the how water, I felt a rush of water pour all over me head, leaving me completely drenched from head to toe "Greyson!" I yell and open my eyes only to see him clutching his stomach lauphing so hard you would think he would pee himself.
"I made you wet" he yells and starts lauphing. Immature 6 year Olds....
We were in the water for about half an hour just chatting and making small talk, but we had to leave so our parents weren't to worried. The sky was getting darker, and the moon was already rising.
We dried off and continued our drive through the mountains. The dark now fully consumed the night sky and stars were shining brightly, surrounding us. It had been about an hours drive to the city of vancouver; where we were staying. The air smelt fresher, and the surroundings were a whole new look.
We spent about an hour to find our hotel because Grey thought it would be a good idea to unplug the GPS system while we were swimming and it died on us. We asked multiple gas stations and they all led us in different directions. After getting frustrated we called up our parents and they gave up the address and so we plugged the GPS back in, and the directions came back up anyways so all we had to do was plug it back in, in the first place... this is why you don't go on road trips with eighteen years old boys who get confused when dora the explorers; I'm the map comes on and can't figure there way through the maze. Because you know, so many little children couldent figure that out.*hint sarcasam* but if I said that to Grey he would claim he's not a boy, but a man and that the small children were tiny robots programed to know that stuff. Boys.. oops I mean MEN...
So now we're here at the hotel, bringing our luggage into the loby where we see our parents there with a cup of coffee in their hands.
"Oh good, there here" Ms. Matthew's says. "Hey kids. The hotel had a bit of a mix up with our room so you two have to share. Hope that won't be a problem. So, here's your keys."
"Get some rest you two it's been a long day. Remember what I said about leaving the hotel avery" my mom says and I nodd. "Good night flower" She says and kisses my head before heading off the the elevator.
Me and Grey head to our room, and when we open the door, instantly there's only one thing that catches my eye.
There's only one bed.
