When you look at my face please know.
know, that I know you dont think I'm pretty.
know, that I really dont expect you to.
know, that I already know the flaws in it.
know, that when I put makeup on its not me trying to cover myself up.
Or ease the blow for when youre finally forced to look at me.
And know that I dont wear it for you.
If I did, dont you think i'd care more about youre dumb ingnorant comments regarding it?
When you look at my body,
Please know there were moments where I really did try to change it for you,
To mold it like clay, into everything you thought it should be.
And that its not that I stopped caring its that you did.
You felt I wasnt changing fast enough so you slowly stopped caring if I changed at all.
And so did I.
If you get close enough to look into my eyes, like really into them.
Know that they werent always filled with no emotion.
Know that deep inside they really are trying to convey how they feel.
Know that the black bottomless pits in them,
Can also be used as a metaphore for how I'm feeling.
And if you get close enough to my heart.
know that the scars you see were once fresh cuts.
And you were the one holding the knife.
