You had been with Theo for nearly 3 years. From the moment you had met him, you fell head over heels in love with him. He was your rock, always there through good and bad to support you. With his acting career taking off, you were extremely proud of him.

However, over the past couple of weeks, Theo had been getting very secretive. It scared you somewhat. You had no idea what he was planning, or thinking about, but you never asked him about his secrecy. It was something you had learnt over the years you were with him, if he was being secretive or acting distant, just to act like he wasn't. He would come round eventually, he usually just needed space or time to think.

It was Christmas eve. You and Theo had decided that you were going to spend this Christmas on your own. What you didn't know however, is that Theo had been planning your present for over a month now.
It was getting late, Theo had been at work all day. He had to finish up some things before the Christmas holidays. You didn't mind, you knew that his job was demanding and that there were some days that you would wake up and he wouldn't be in bed next to you. But he'd always leave a note, explaining where he was. You stood at the sliding doors that lead out into your garden. Your hands welcomed the warmth of the mug of tea you held. Snow fell heavily outside, that's what you loved about England, most Christmases you woke up to see a blanket of white outside.
You finished your tea and put the mug in the sink. You then ran the hot water and squeezed the washing up liquid bottle. You began washing the dishes that were in the sink. Halfway through washing them, the door shut. Theo was home. He walked over to you and wrapped his arms around your waist and kissed your neck. You hummed.

"Hey baby." You said, grabbing the towel and drying your hands.

You then turned in his grip and kissed him properly. You loved these moments. Moments where you cut out the rest of the world and it was just the two of you.
It got dark very quickly, and before you knew it, it was 11 o'clock. You both went to bed and fell asleep in each other's arms. 

You woke up and it was December 25th. You rolled over and Theo wasn't there. He must've already went downstairs. You got up and walked down the stairs. You walked into the living room and saw Theo sitting on the sofa. The lights weren't on, so the lights from the tree were the only thing illuminating the room. You walked over and placed your hands on his shoulders and then wrapped your arms loosely around them. You pecked his cheek. 

"Morning." 

He took your hand and kissed your knuckles. 

"Morning, Ellie." He says in his rough, morning voice. 

You sat down next to him, and he turned to you. 

"Ellie, I want you to close your eyes for me." 

You nod, slightly nervous. You then close your eyes. He walked away and then came back. 

"Hold out your arms." 

You did as he said and he placed something in your arms. Something fluffy and squirmy. 

"You can open your eyes now." 

Once you opened your eyes, you saw a beautiful golden labrador. You looked up at Theo and he laughed. 

"You didn't." You say.

He nods. 

"I love him."

You've always wanted a boy golden labrador, ever since you were little. You rubbed around it's neck and felt it's collar. Then your fingers came into contact with something that shouldn't have been on a dog's collar. You felt the strange object, and your eyes widened when your realised what it was. You took the dog's collar off and then held up a ring. 

"Theo..." 

Before you could form a coherent sentence, Theo was down on one knee in front of you. He gently took the ring from your shaking fingers. 

"Ellie, I've been wanting to do this for a long time now. I just couldn't think of a way to do it. I guess I was just scared of the answer. But here it goes. Ellie, I love you so much, you're so supportive, you're always there when I need you, even when I think I don't, you're still there. You can always make me smile, laugh. And most of all, you always give me a reason to get up in the morning. I love you. So, Ellie. Will you marry me?" 

You had tears of happiness falling, you placed the puppy on the sofa next to you. You wiped away your tears. 

"Yes, Theo! Yes!" 

He smiled, and sat on the sofa next to you. You straddled his lap and kissed him passionately. 

"I love you Theo James." 

"I love you Ellie James."

Hope you enjoy your imagine, Ellie. Sorry if it doesn't completely follow your request, I guess I got a little carried away. But I did enjoy writing it for you.

So yeah, I have an Easter break, so I'm maybe gonna try and balance studying and writing. But it does feel good to be writing again.
