After my classes on Monday, some of my friends and I went to the cafe.
"When is Shadow coming back?" Kelly asked as I took a sip from my coffee.
"I'm not sure," I answered, "I hope sometime soon."
She nodded as Ryder rolled his eyes and looked at me. "What do you see in him anyway?"
"He cares about me, Ryder. And he's done a lot for me."
"And he's hot," Kelly added.
I tried not to giggle in agreement for Ryder's sake.
"What does it matter to you, Ryder?" Jake asked teasingly, "Why do you care?"
"I just think that Rouge could do better," the bat replied sharply.
I rolled my eyes and we changed the conversation. Soon later, Heather and Kelly went to the restroom while Jake got a phone call and went outside.
That left me and Ryder.
He looked at me and sighed, "Rouge, I wasn't trying to piss you off."
"You didn't."
"Well, if you and Shadow don't work out, I'd be honored to take you on a date."
I glanced up at him confused.
"Um..."
Then, Jake walked back in and returned to his seat.
Thank you, Jake.
The conversation changed again, and it wasn't long until everyone had returned back to the table.
