Louis;

I sit beside Harry's mother in one of the uncomfortable plastic chairs of the hospital. After getting Harry to the E.R. , I had called her. Nurses and doctors with clipboards pass by us frequently, and every time one approaches we perk up in anticipation, only to be disappointed when they pass us by.

It's been about two hours or so since the doctors started working on Harry's injuries. Apparently, they were worse than they seemed. He had lost a lot of blood and had several older wounds that needed treatment too. Nothing was life threatening, but Anne was more than anxious to see her son after all this time. And I was anxious to see if he was ok..not just physically, but emotionally as well.

I look up from staring at the tiled floor when the front doors crash open, revealing Niall, who had gone back to help chase down Bruce, along with Liam and Zayn. When they spot me, they rush over, quickly pulling me to my feet and away from Anne. They look frantic and it's enough to have me on edge immediately.

"What the hell is going on?" I say, my eyebrows drawing together in concern.

Niall opens and closes his mouth a few times, trying desperately to say something before he gives up, dropping his head. I look to Zayn next, but he only gives me a sad, slightly guilty look before turning his head away and scratching the back of his neck. Lastly, I turn to Liam. Not surprisingly, he seems to have more of a grip than the other two.

"Leyton got away." he says, a serious look on his face as he continues. "We lost him a few streets over, he must've gone down into the subway and caught a train."

For several moments I simply stare at Liam in disbelief. I couldn't possibly be mad at any of these boys. After all we are dealing with a highly experienced criminal. It's not their fault he got away, it's mine.

Finally, I reach out and pat Liam on the shoulder. Niall, and Zayn look up then and all three of them look at me in confusion.

"It's alright boys, we'll get him. For now, go home. Get some rest. Just be back at the station in-" I pause, looking at the clock on the wall. It's now nearly 5am. "in about 5 hours, alright? We'll figure out what to do then." All three of them nod and say goodbye to me, exiting the building.

I turn and walk back over to Anne, knowing what I now have to tell her. I sit down in the seat next to her, turning my body slightly to face her. She looks at me worriedly, no doubt knowing what I am about to tell her is bad news.

Harry;

Beep...beep...beep...

I groan in annoyance. Whatever that god awful noise is, someone needs to make it stop.

Beep...beep...beep...

I growl, realizing there is no way I can sleep with that obnoxious beeping, whatever the hell it is. I find I'm lying on my stomach, which is odd because usually I sleep on my back. Opening my eyes, I find myself in a small hospital room. The walls and floors both a sterile white and the lights dimmed low. The annoying beeping is the heart monitor that I'm hooked up to.

I'm still pretty groggy and my eyebrows furrow in confusion, trying to remember what happened. My back stings for some reason and I reach my hand up behind me to find out why. The sleep wears off almost instantly the moment my fingers brush over the bandages.

Suddenly, I remember everything. Bruce taking me. The..violation. The abuse. The blood. The pain. Everything comes back to me much too fast and the monitor starts to go crazy as my heartbeat quickens and I begin to panic. Doctors rush into the room and I scream the name of the first person that comes to mind.

"LOUIS!!!!" I yell as loud as possible. The doctors start to get closer to me, only causing my panic to get worse when I see one of them has a needle.
"NO!! NO!! LOUIS!!! LOUIS HELP!!!"

The doctors hold me down, managing to prick me with the needle. I stop struggling as the effects of the drug they gave me kick in. The last thing I see before I pass out is a panicked Louis, standing in the doorway breathing heavily, looking straight back at me.

Louis;

Anne had taken the news of Leyton not being caught surprisingly well. She seems to have this implicit trust in me for some reason. Her exact words to me were 'You found my son, I know you will keep him safe.'

I'm sitting with my head in my hands when I hear someone let out blood curdling scream.

"LOUIS!!!!"

I'm up and out of my chair in a fraction of a second, sprinting through the halls, a startled looking Anne trailing behind me. As I round a corner the screams get louder.

"NO!! NO!! LOUIS!!! LOUIS HELP!!!"

I push myself to go faster, Harry needs me. Finally, I skid to a halt in the doorway of his hospital room, breathing heavily. Harry is looking back at me from around one of the three doctors holding him down. I keep eye contact with him until he slowly closes his eyes and falls limp, sleep taking over.

Anne has caught up to me by now and one if the doctors stops to talk to us on her way out of the room.

"He had an anxiety attack, I just gave him a little something to help him sleep. You can stay with him now if you'd like, but he most likely won't wake up until at least 9 o'clock."

I look from the doctor to Anne and see the exhaustion obvious in her appearance. We've been here since around 3am and it is about 5:30am now. I give her a look of sympathy before thanking the doctor, who then hurries away, off to take care of her other patients.

Turning back to Anne I say, "Mrs.Styles, why don't you go home and get some rest. I'll look after Harry."

She looks from Harry, lying in the small hospital bed, to me several times before she sighs and nods her head sadly.

"Just give me a moment." she says, walking into the room. When she reaches Harry's bedside, she reaches a hand out and softly strokes his cheek. She then leans down to press a kiss to his forehead. Then she leaves the room, wiping her tears away on her way to the door.

Before she goes, she gives me a hug, thanking me for getting her son back. I return the hug, saying that I simply did my job, smiling modestly at her. She returns my smile and pats my cheek, and then she walks away back the way we came.

I walk into Harry's room then, grabbing a seat from the far wall and pulling it over to the bed. A few moments pass until Harry's brow furrows and he mumbles something in his sleep. I lean in close to him, trying to make out the words. After a few seconds he says it again.

"....Lou."

He couldn't have possibly said what I think he said right? I pull away from him in shock. Seeing that his expression has turned from peaceful to fearful in the last few seconds.

"....Louis." he calls out again,louder this time, the fear evident in his voice. He gets restless, beginning to move around a bit in his unease.

Not wanting him to turn over and hurt the injuries on his back, and not knowing what else to do, I reach out and take his hand in my own.

I run my thumb across his knuckles, attempting to soothe him, and whisper softly to him.

"Shh, Harry, I'm right here. You're ok. I won't let anything happen to you." I watch as he lets out a small sigh and he relaxes, his face looking peaceful again.

As I sit by Harry's side and wait for him to wake up, I realize two things. The first being that what I am doing right now is probably wrong on so many levels, but somehow I don't care. The second thing I realize is that I can feel myself starting to fall for this boy whom I hardly know, and I am helpless to stop it from happening.
