Louis;

Harry's mother had returned at around 9:30. He still hadn't woken up and I had pulled my hand out of his as soon as I heard the door knob turning.

I tell Anne that I will be back later today and give her my cell phone number, telling her to call if anything happens. I glance back one more time at Harry before I leave. His dark curls are spread out across the pillow under his head and his lips are turned slightly upwards in a peaceful smile.

Fifteen minutes later, I pull into the parking lot at the police station. I park my car and run inside quickly, getting inside and out of the cold February weather.

I make my way to the conference room, preparing myself for the meeting with the rest of the department on what our next step is to take down Leyton. Sitting down at the head of the long, dark wood table, I write down everything we know about Leyton that could be helpful in finding him.

I pull up a map of the city and put it up on the large projector screen in the front of the room and circle the locations that Leyton has been known to hide out in. I finish right as Niall, Zayn, and Liam enter the room.

"How's Harry?" Niall asks, taking a seat at the table.

"He woke up once," I say "He had some kind of anxiety attack but he's alright now. He was still sleeping when I left."

Niall nods, seemingly relieved that Harry is ok. Zayn and Liam take their seats across the table from Niall. Liam speaks next.

"So what now? How are we gonna get this guy?" he asks. I place both of my hands on the table, putting all of my weight onto my arms and leaning forward. I look to each of the boys before I reply.

"Well, I think the first thing we need to do is figure out how we're gonna keep Harry safe."

Harry;

When I finally wake up it's around 10:30. My mother is sitting in the chair next to my bed smiling at me, tears in her eyes. The moment I see her I spring into a sitting position and latch onto her, giving her the tightest hug ever. She squeezes me back just as hard before she goes to get a nurse to check up on me.

The last thing I remember was seeing Louis standing in the doorway, and I am strangely disappointed when my mother tells me he had to leave for work about an hour ago.

I remember I had started having another nightmare last night, or rather earlier this morning, but this time something happened to make it stop. I could swear I remember someone taking my hand, comforting me. I know it couldn't have been my mother because the hand was much larger than hers and most definitely male. Nobody else but Louis and my mother have been here to see me so that means it could only have been Louis...unless I was just imagining things.

I shake my head, trying to get a hold of myself as my mother comes in with a doctor. The doctor checks my vitals and my injuries, telling us that everything seems to be healing quite well. She tells us that I'll be able to go home later on today.

When the doctor leaves, my mother picks something up from the floor under my bed and hands it to me. It's a small box, wrapped in red paper with a white bow. I raise an eyebrow at my mother, not quite sure what this could be for.

"For your birthday,Harry." she says sadly, folding her hands in her lap. Right. Today's the 17th. My birthday was a little over two weeks ago.

I look back down at the present before unwrapping it slowly and opening the box.

First, I pull out a purple jack wills hoodie. It's soft and warm and I smile, already I can't wait to wear it. I look back into the box and pull out another small, thin, rectangular box. Carefully I open it, pulling out the silver chain with a cross pendant. I hold the pendant between my fingers, flipping it over. Engraved on the back is the word 'strength'. I look to my mother and she takes the hand holding the necklace in her own. Gently, she takes the necklace from me, securing it around my neck. The cross falls just a few inches below my collar bones, resting lightly on my chest.
