"What?" Elizabeth exclaimed to Aslan. "I cannot possibly be the one the prophecy is talking about! Certainly I am not fit to rule. Why I'm only fourteen-years-old!"

Chapter Thirty One
Blossoming Romance
While the great feast was being held in the coronation room, Lucy ran out onto the balcony overlooking the ocean to take a break from all the fuss for a moment. She just needed a break and some fresh air to clear her head. When she reached the balcony, Lucy caught sight of Aslan and Elizabeth walking down the beach together. Lucy frowned as she watched them walking off. Where were they going?
"Don't worry," a voice called out to her and when she turned around she was greeted by the faun, Mr. Tumnus. "We'll see him again."
"Why are they leaving?" Lucy asked to him with sad eyes.
"Elizabeth won't be leaving," Mr. Tumnus assured her as he walked over to her on the balcony. "Elizabeth usually just sees him off. Likes to say goodbye," the faun explained as he turned to watch Elizabeth and Aslan down on the beach.
"Aslan will always be coming and going, one day he'll be here and the next he won't. He doesn't like being tied down and ever since Elizabeth came to Narnia Aslan has typically stayed in one place longer than he usually tends to. Of course, he has other countries to attend to. It's quite all right, he'll often drop in. Only you mustn't press him. After all, he is wild you know, not like a tame lion," Mr. Tumnus smiled down at Lucy.
"No," she agreed as she watched the pair walk in the sand. "But he is good," she smiled up at the faun with tears in her eyes.
Mr. Tumnus reached up into his scarf. "Here," he said as he pulled out Lucy's handkerchief she had given to him and handed it back to her. "You need it more than I do," he said with a slight bit of sass.
Lucy gladly took the handkerchief from him and when she looked back out to the sand, Aslan was gone. He had vanished and now Elizabeth was left standing on the beach looking out towards the hills. She let out a quick gasp before turning to the faun with big eyes. Mr. Tumnus let out a sigh and Lucy knew that the lion was gone.
As she looked back towards the beach she suddenly felt like she had been hit in the head as a light bulb went off. Turning to Mr. Tumnus she had a frown on her face and furrowed her eyebrows. "You told me you used to be a teacher," she stated and Mr. Tumnus gave a nod to show she was right. "Your student didn't happen to be—" Lucy started to guess but the faun cut her off.
"Elizabeth, yes," he exclaimed looking out towards the beach and the two watched the blonde standing in the sand. "She was my student for almost twenty-five years and I haven't seen her until a few days ago when the two of you rescued me from the Witch's castle."
Lucy let out a slight laugh as she watched the girl. What a small world.
Elizabeth continued to walk down the beach after Aslan had left. The sand felt soft and warm between her toes and her red dress trailed behind her as she strutted alongside the water. She had a good hunch she knew where Aslan was heading. She had the same hunch ever since she first met Aslan and he disappeared the first time. Elizabeth believed Aslan was always heading back to the 'real world' where Elizabeth and the Pevensies came from. At first it bothered her when she first got the hunch that this where Aslan was going, of course it wasn't just their world he was going to. Like Mr. Tumnus told Lucy, Aslan would go to other countries.
