It was Friday night, I was sat in my room reading a new book from the library when I heard small clicks on my window, when I got up and looked out I saw raven staring up at me from the floor. She was stood at the roots of the old oak tree that grew next to my window. She beckoned me to come down but I shook my head in hesitation and opened the window to talk to her instead. "How do you know where I live?" I Half whispered.
"I just guessed" she lied. I stared at her in disbelief and shook my head mockingly. She let out a sigh "I might have followed you home but details don't matter, if you can't come down, then can I come up?"
"Only if you're quiet" I said as she started to climb the tree. She worked her way up the old branches and then fell through the window into my room. "What are you doing here?"
"Homework!" She exclaimed.
"What homework?" I asked.
"See!" She laughed. "We had biology homework for tomorrow."
"But it's Saturday tomorrow? I don't see how we can have homework for Saturday!" I was now well and truly confused.
"It's online! Didn't you listen in class, we got new logins for that school website!" She explained.
"Yea whatever!" I said.
I heard heavy footsteps coming up the stairs. "My dad!" I panicked. "Quickly, get under the bed!" As soon as Raven was under the bed my dad burst in with a pile of money in his hands."Usual routine kid, hide this money till I tell you to bring it to me in a few days, got it?" Shouted my dad, in quite a hurry it would seem.
"Yes sir!" I replied. He then shoved the pile of notes into my hands then ran downstairs again, slamming my bedroom door on the way out. Dad often did this, Friday was 'ship day' when all the imports of fresh drugs came in and he exports the pre-ordered ones. It's stupid really but I always have to look after the money until everything settles down with the police. However, if anything was missing from his pay when he came to retrieve it from me, I'd get beaten for stealing.
"Is it ok to come out yet?" I hear a quiet voice from the bed, whisper.
"Yea sure, dad's probably gone to the pub now, and mum won't mind you staying here for a bit." Raven crawled out from under the bed, brushed the dust off herself and then pulled out a slip of paper with something written on it. She flung herself at the chair that was used for my desk and opened my laptop.
"Nice cat," she said, "what's it's name?"
"Holmesie, named after..."
"Yea I know Sherlock Holmes, when were you born?" She insisted.
"21st April, 2002" I answered, wondering what on earth she was doing. She then opened my laptop and started guessing at my password.
"Holmesie2002? Nope, holmesie21, damn, holmesie210402, yes!"
"What are you doing you idiot? You could have just asked me instead of hacking into my laptop!" Although I tried to sound angry, I was actually impressed on the inside. What she did could hack into anything, it was unbelievable that she could do this stuff at her age! Maybe I was taking this too far, all she did was guess my password but it still amazed me anyway. She opened google and started typing, I guess she was doing my homework for me. Homework bores me so I started counting the money that my father had given me, '£50, £100, £150, £200, £300,' I carried on counting until I reached an amount that had never been obtained by my father before.
"36 thousand pounds?" I exclaimed. Raven looked at me in shock "how has dad got all this money?"
