After receiving the call, Joseph Graves immediately relays the call to his close friend whom is more equipped to handle the situation. His friend is Tyler Disakvo, the Director of the Supernatural Weapons and Ordinance Retrieval Division; otherwise known as S.W.O.R.D.
A few minutes after the concerning telephone conversation, Col. Disakvo boards a helicopter that takes him and a small research team to Nome, Alaska. From here, they drive two snowcats to the 'scene of the crime'.
Once they arrive, they are greeted by the aging climatologist--who is still in a state of shock.
"Is this where you saw the anomaly?" the head researcher asks.
The scientist replies, "Yes."
"Thank you. Now, can you step this way, sir?"
As the scientist is ushered towards the first snowcat, the research team pulls out some high tech scanning equipment from the second one. From the first snowcat, out steps Director Disakvo, and he introduces himself to the confused climatologist.
"Hello, Dr. Hyde. We received your call," the Director says graciously.
"Yes, but I called Mr. Graves," the climatologist replies confused. "Now, who are you and what are you doing with my equipment?"
"Of course. My apologies doctor. My name is Director Tyler Disakvo. My men and I are with the Supernatural Weapons and Ordinance Retrieval Division. And we are confiscating your equipment."
"Never heard of it."
"Many haven't and most people will never encounter it. We are a top secret, privately resourced, para-governmental agency that specializes in the supernatural. The man that financed your expedition, Mr. Graves, is our founder."
"Well, I would call what I saw supernat...Wait!! Did you just state that you are confiscating my equipment!?!"
"Yes."
"But this is my life's work and.."
"Don't worry Dr. Hyde. Once we have finished our investigation, your equipment and research will be returned. If it takes too long we will publish any findings your samples provide in any, no, every peer-reviewed science journal on the planet. In your name, of course."
"Well, when you put it that way, I can't refuse."
"Good. But, you wouldn't of had a say in the matter anyway. As of the moment we arrived, this equipment is now the explicit property of S.W.O.R.D." The Director declares bondly. "This 'cat will take you back to Nome, where you shall be flown home in a private helicopter. Speak of this to no one. Have a good day, sir."
With that, the door to the snowcat closes, and the vehicle lurches forward; taking the Ph.D. holding climatologist on a one-way trip home.
After an hour in the harsh conditions, the research team packs up and chains the climatologist's truck to back of the snowcat. As they pile in, Director Disakvo stares out into the horizon. As he does this, he can't help but contemplate his location. For this was the last recorded location of a speedster.....
