A few days after the Arctic Incident, Director Disakvo concludes that, as usual in his line of work, the impossible can happen. That this young speedster that can barely break the sound barrier is somehow fast enough to break free from the Speed Force.

After the Arctic Incident, the research team was able to track the energy signature given off by the breaches.

Good thing, too. For the appearance in the Arctic was only the first.

Over the past five days, the events of that day in the Arctic have repeated themselves nearly fourteen times. Each at a different location on the Earth.

The second appearance was in Bludhaven. He appeared in front of his best friend for only a few seconds.

"The experience was quite terrifying," Nightwing recalled.

The third and fourth appearances occurred within an hour of each other, in front of his apartment in Palo Alto. The home he shared with Artemis.

Unfortunately, she moved back home to Gotham; meaning that no one was there to help him. But that did not mean that there were no witnesses.

In fact, there was nearly forty of them. Each one a resident of the apartment complex. The shockwave broke windows and set off alarms within a four block radius. There was media coverage, but luckily the Director was able to contain it at the local level.

The next ten attempts were scattered all around the globe. From New York to Paris. From Moscow to Tokyo. Even from Cairo to Cape Town. He even appeared outside of a giant 'T'-shaped tower in Jump City, California. Each time, the speedster desperately tried to cling on to this reality.

After the last appearance, S.W.O.R.D.'s director decided to take a hands on approach. He decided that he was going to bait the young trapped hero.

Since--from what he could observe--Wally appeared to be focusing on people and places that he had an emotional connection with, Col. Disakvo was going to use the only individual on the planet that had the strongest emotional connection to the speedster. She would act as his lightening rod, so to speak. Grounding him to the Earth.

For Artemis was, nay is, everything to Wally. She is his love. His other half. His...spitfire.

Yes, Director Disakvo thought. Artemis. Her connection with him is the only thing strong enough to break the speedster out of the Speed Force.
