Chapter 15

"I'm coming home."

"Wait, what?!? What do you mean you're coming home?"

"He kicked me out," I sniffled swallowing back a sob, "I don't know what else to do..."

"Wait what?" Kaylie asked again sounding even more confused, "Why!?!"

"Cole Brown kissed me... and he walked in on us..."

"Cole Brown! Cole Brown kissed you!" she exclaimed, "Dang, why do you get all the hot guys?"

"Kaylie," I exclaimed and felt tears prickling in my eyes again.

"Sorry," she mumbled in an apologetic tone, "You know how I am with him..."

"Yeah," I laughed humorlessly, "Well he's a jerk so I'd get over it."

"I'm so sorry," she said in a sympathetic voice, "Where are you now?"

I glanced around before looking back down at my feet, "In a bus station. There's a bus leaving for Baltimore in 20 minutes."

"Ellie... I know you're probably upset enough already but I don't know if it's a good idea for you to come home now. I mean how is your family going to react if Sophia Marsh shows up at their doorstep? And I'd offer to let you stay with me but my parents would freak too..."

I let out an exasperated cry, "Then what am I supposed to do! I have nowhere to go Kay! Jayden kicked me out and he never wants to see me again..." I let out my voice cracking at the end. "I just want to come home," I whispered tearing up, "I want my life back..."

I heard her sigh and she was quiet for a couple minutes. "Alright, come home then."

"But what about my parents?" I asked wiping away my tears.

"I have no idea." She said and I could mentally see her shrugging while saying that.

I smiled slightly, "That doesn't make me feel any better."

"We'll just figure it out when you get here. If worst comes to worst, Ty and I will just try to hide you at our house for a couple days. It'll all work out."

I sighed and smiled softly, "I really needed to hear that."

"I miss you," she informed me and I could hear the smile in her voice, "So get your butt back here quickly so I can see my best friend."

I laughed slightly and cracked a small smile, "I'll do what I can."

I climbed on the bus and headed towards the back. It was going to be a long ride so I was hoping to be able to sleep a bit.

I set the bag I had in my hands on the seat and curled up against it. I then realized I hadn't told Alexa I was leaving, so I quickly pulled Sophia's phone out of the bag and pulled up a new message, "Hey, I'm leaving. Sorry it's such short notice but I'll try to call you later and explain. I'm really going to miss you..." A few seconds after I got a response, "What do you mean you're leaving?!?! What happened?!? Jayden's not picking up. Did something happen between the two of you?" I put the phone back in the pocket, feeling tears threatening to fall again. I ignored the ringing phone and just leaned my face against the window, silently letting all the tears fall.
