The sun was just barely beginning to set, sunlight streaking over the sky. The wind soft but evident, temperature slowly dropping. Tanaka eyed the young master inquisitively as the traveled throughout the city. Faint scents of fresh baked goods and the sounds of bustling city folk resonated through the streets.

"Young master, may I ask why you requested my assistance instead of Sebastian?"

Without removing his gaze from the window Ciel spoke slowly.

"Tanaka, I understand how extremely curious you may be with the current situation... But I will not indulge you... Not just yet."

Tanaka notice how carefully the young man spoke. Wondering what could possibly be running through the young earl's mind. Seeing the pain and disconcert in his expression he sighed and decided to let him be for now...

...

Sebastian went about his daily routine agonizingly. Organizing the manor's library, straightening up every room, detailing the records. 'Why?' he thought. Why would the young master not tell him what the contents of the letter were? To rush him out and call for Tanaka? These questions swirled around in his mind, unable to decipher his young master's actions. His thoughts we're cut short by a loud crashing and a familiar red-haired reaper leaping through a broken window.

"OH BASSY!"

Grell exclaimed, charging at Sebastian. In one swift movement, Sebastian had dodged out of the way and sent Grell flying into the wall, his face crashing into one of the marble pillars in the foyer. Swiping his gloved hands together, in effort to clean them off he looked at Grell in the most disdainful way.

"Grell... What do you think you're doing here."

Grell, attempting to clean himself off, straightened his spectacles and coat. Pouting and sending a pitiful look Sebastian's way.

"Why must you always go for the face! Have you no manners at all?!"

Sebastian sighed, shooting him a terrifying glare. Grell opened his mouth and tried to laugh it off.

"Very well. Grell would you mind telling me your business here?"

The butler inquired while he checked his pocket watch. Grell nodded, noting that it was not a request, but slightly rubbing up on Sebastian.

"Oh Bassy, only because you asked so politely! See it's a slow night for me indeed, i've only one soul to reap. Lady Elizabeth Ethel Cordelia Midford."

Looking around Grell sighed.

"I had hoped she was here, mainly because I wanted to see you Bassy... Oh well, i've got to be off now."

A quick shutter and flash an Grell leapt back towards the window.

"Field report for William! I'll see you soon Bassy."

The reaper grinned and disappeared in a quick blur of red.

"Wait, GRELL!"

But the butler had been too late. Lady Elizabeth? why was she on the 'To Die' list? She was only a young girl. Perhaps she had fallen ill? Had she had been mugged on her ride home?

"... The young master will be most displeased... How... tragic..."

Sebastian's lips parted as his let out a small sigh and a slight smile forming on his face...
