Chapter 8: Papyrus & the decision

You open your eyes to a snowy forest, you know where this is...it's near the house your in, you saw it through the window in that room you woke up in. There's a very tall skeleton with a red scarf and wearing a strange outfit that looks like some sort of costume. He looks very happy and enthusiastic.

"Hello human! Are you leaving so soon!? You have barely stayed here long enough to have some of my famous spaghetti!"

You look around, you know that voice...you heard it on your way up Mt.Ebott. you look down to see you self holding a knife, it's the same one you killed Toriel with. No...it's another one for these dreams...these terrible memories. You feel tears start to form in your eyes. You step closer to him.

"H-human? What's wrong? Why aren't you talking to me anymore? And...what's with that knife?"

Again you close your eyes as you dash at him with the knife, the only thing you see is this person cutting the skeleton's head off. Tears fall down your face as you hear his last words.

"I-i believe in you human...you can do a little better..."

You open your eyes to the dark room where Sans had brought you when he knocked you out. You sit up, Sans isn't in the room but Flowey is peacefully sleeping on your pillow near your head. Tears are streaming down your face, you wipe them away quickly and look outside. It's night and the forest is right there. You gently shake Flowey to wake him. He slowly opens his eyes as he yawns. He sits up.

"(Y/n)? Everything okay?"

"Flowey, When I woke up I overheard Grillby and Sans talking. They said that Sans brother wasn't killed in snowdin." Flowey opens his eyes more realizing what you're saying.

"He was killed in the forest...you want to go save him to earn Sans trust...don't you?"

You slowly nod. "Do you know where he was killed?" Flowey nods. You put on your jacket and Flowey wraps around your neck. You open the door quickly and quietly and step out into the hall. You walk past another room where you can here Sans quietly singing a strange but catchy song. (megolovania) You sneak past the room and walk down the stairs. Grillby is sleeping on the couch and Kid is asleep in an arm chair. You quietly sneak past them walk to the door. You stop and look at Flowey is shivering slightly. "Flowey, stay here. You can't handle how cold this weather is at the moment. I promise I'll be okay." He looks at you with worry and fear in his eyes. You kiss him on the forehead and he slowly lets go after nodding. You set him on a table near the door. You open the door and leave the house. You head towards the forest, you rely on memory to find the spot where the skeleton was killed. Soon you're deep in the forest and you may or may not be lost. You lean against a tree to take a break from the walking, when you look around from where you are you realize your in the spot where you stood before you...killed the skeleton. You walk over to the spot where the skeleton's dust would be. When you reach the spot you can feel a bit of happiness hit you. He must have been so happy that it made everyone around him happy. You get down on your knees and place your hands on the ground. You close your eyes and start focusing. You feel two warm hands be placed on top of yours, You open your eyes quickly seeing two skeleton hands on top of yours, you slowly look up to see Sans on his knees looking at you.

"Did you really think I would let you do this alone?"

He gives you a small smile and chuckle. You give a small smile back. You both look down and slowly close your eyes. You focus on the soul of the skeleton killed here. You can feel Sans warmth and power fuse with yours making it easily on you and your soul. You can see the tall skeleton with his arms out waiting for a hug or something. You and Sans both grab him and slowly open your eyes. Sans gets up and hugs the tall skeleton now standing next to you both. A huge shiver runs through your body and you collapse to the snowy ground. Sans and the tall skeleton look at you. You can hear Chara laughing in your mind, they did this...they're killing you, slowly. Sans picks you up, he takes his jacket off and puts it on you giving you both warmth and comfort. Sans and the skeleton run home carrying you, they bring you inside and set you on the couch. Grillby walks out of the kitchen, he sees you and grabs a blanket and wraps it around you. You slowly sit up, Sans sits next to you and Flowey and Kid sit on the arm chair. Grillby and the tall skeleton sit on the ground in front of the couch.

"How did you do that human?"

You look at the tall skeleton and take a deep breath. "I have this...magic?...I can revive souls from memories i see of them from touching their dust...maybe i'll just start from the beginning for you and Sans." 

"Well, first off...I'm Papyrus, Sans brother. and you are?"

"(y/n). Now, let's begin." You start to explain everything from the moment you were at the golden flowers. After you're done explaining Papyrus taps you on the leg to get your attention.

"If your going to save the underground from Frisk, you should probably get going soon to catch up to them."

Flowey blurts out. "I'm going with they as their navigator."

"And I'm going with to make sure the the kid doesn't hurt their self."

After Sans and Flowey decide to go with its settled. You, Sans, and Flowey leaving the morning to catch Frisk and save the underground.
