Prolouge

I'm running as fast as I can. I don't know why, but something compels me to keep running. I glance to my left to see a small black cobra keeping my pace, a glance to my right reveals a larger blue three-tailed fox doing the same. It doesn't take me long to recognize both of them. They are my brother and sister.

I wake with a start, then wince at the blinding white light of my cell. As my eyes adjust to the light a voice startles me, and I immediately recall it as my brother, Hiro. "More dreams" he says well thinks in a cheerful tone. That was one thing that really annoyed me, and that was my brothers telepathic abilities. "What's with the cheerful attitude?" I reply. "Don't you remember?!?..today is the day we all get to go outside!!" Of course, how could I forget. Today everyone in the super soldier program (s.s.p.) gets to go outside and and test. For Hiro, me and our younger sister, Mei ; this is the first time in seven years that we get to see sunlight. And all of this because of a stupid choice we made seven years ago, a year after the war began. we were starving homeless and dying. Hiro claims we had no other choice.

eight years ago world war III began. I was nine at the time (Hiro was eleven, and Mei was only five). We had a family, but our stability crashed when strangers came, killed our parents, and stole all of our food and supplies; my siblings and I barely escaped with our lives, we hardly survived a month scraping up whatever we could find edible. we then met a man ( we later found responded to the name Mr. Kuru) who made us a bargain. Heh,..I still remember his words..sounding so promising so trustworthy. "Oh my you children seem almost dead, you need food and medicine... I tell you what if you come with me I will be able to get you food and the medical care you need and on top of that I will give you a safe place to stay".

I know what your thinking.."how could you trust a stranger especially during those times" I have asked myself the same question numerous times and when I think about it the only convincing thing about him was that he was very well dressed for such hard times....I guess we thought "what can be worse than death" and now the answer is obvious , its the agony that comes before death...torture
