"Not much, just picking things up. I was practicing while you were sleeping and I nearly passed out trying to pick up a spoon." He let out a sigh of exhaustion, "I don't know how I got you in here so easily."

"Well I'm glad you did."

He looked worn out and when he shut his eyes his figure vanished and he was no where to be found. I searched the whole apartment, he just disappeared. There is only one person in town who knows everything about ghosts . Charlie. I ran to the phone and dialed his number.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Charlie. Did I wake you?"

"No, I'm always wake at four in the morning," his voice full of sarcasm, "What do you need? Is it about the trial? You know I shouldn't be helping you with that, I could get in trouble too."

"Yeah, I know but it's about Taylor. Something is wrong, he was trying to pick things up and he just disappeared."

"He just wore himself out, it's nothing to be worried about.Just go back to sleep."

"Yeah, that may be harder than it seems...."

" Having trouble sleeping?"

I answer with silence.

" I'll be over in ten."

"Thanks Charlie. " and I hung up the phone.

"No wonder you don't get any sleep, you live over the loudest bar in the entire city." Charlie complained when he walked through the door.

"Please,  you say that all the time," I was sitting in the chair across the room. "Besides, it's the only place I could afford. So don't hate."

"You know you could always stay at my place until.." he paused and looked around the room.." you find something better than this dump." He then motioned to the peeling wallpaper, the dripping sink, and the torn up carpet.

"Please. There's barely enough room for you and your brother, how are you going to fit me in that small little place." Ethan and Charlie live in this small, but nice apartment about ten minutes from here.

" You know Ethan and I can always make room for you." The twins are my best friends and I know they would do anything to help me and I know it kills them that they can't help me prove my innocence to the council.

"I'd hate to do that to you guys, but I might just take you up on that soon."

Charlie had made his way to the kitchen and was looking through the shelves.

"Where the hell do you keep the herbs? I've looked every where."  Charlie said when I walked in.

I walked into the living room again, opened the glass book case and pulled out a wooden box that had various symbols of protection it. When I brought it back to the kitchen Charlie had a cup of hot water sitting on the counter ready to be mixed with whatever will me sleep.

"Why don't you just keep them in the kitchen?"

"Because, it can be dangerous to the many human house guests that I host." I said sarcastically, motioning to the empty room with my hands.

"Who would want to stay here." He said jokingly and I punched him in the arm. " Hey! You're going to mess me up and then you'll be sleeping much longer than just one night!"

I laughed even though I knew what he had said was true. I started to think that if I don't find out who killed Taylor then I'll be dead too, only I won't end up going to heaven like he will. I'll end up in a worse hell than I'm in right now.

I drink the tea and my mind begins to wander like a child walking by herself. I find my self struggling to stay awake and the last thing I remember is Charlie bringing me a blanket.
