I stretch my arms. "Wake up," I bring my hands up to tuck his dark black wavy hair behind his ears. I cup his face and run my thumbs along his cheeks. "I have to leave," I whisper as I plant a slow, soft, passionate kiss on his lips. I rub my body against his.
"No you don't." He groans and wraps his rams around me, pulling me in.
"Yes, I do," I chuckle. I loved seeing him like this, his face is scrunched and he looks grumpy like he wants to sleep for another few hours. I wonder what was inside that mind of his.
"No. Don't go." He groans again and I can see the smile playing on his lips. Gods I wanted to say screw it and lay here in bed all day as we give the kingdom various storms. I don't know how I'll get passed it, everyone knowing his feelings--I mean they're all just feelings toward me. A big storm, looks like they're making love. A storm--looks like he's angry. Rain--sad, nothing--bliss.
I press my palms against his chest and push up. "I will see you Monday, my king." To stay the weekend at Craylles castle disgusts me. The king is far to busy for his own good that he has to talk to me various other times, thus me staying the weekend. Plus, it'll be good to see my best friend. I'm sure she'll have plenty of stories to tell me, all terrible regarding her new husband--the king. She deserves better.
"Eh, Saturday." He bargains playfully. I purse my lips and try to conceal my smile as I think how much he really doesn't want me to go. I wish I could return Saturday but it just isn't possible, I have to be professional with the king and I can't let him on.
I give him a warning glare instead. "Monday. This isn't up for negotiation."
He lets out a whine. "Sunday?" I love the way his eyebrows were furrowed.
I look at him intently and smile. "I'll think about it." I tease. One of my favorite things about our relationship is the constant need to push each other and be close. I could tease him all day long.
His smile gets larger. "And who said this wasn't up for negotiation?" He wins.
"Watch it, or I really will be back on Monday." I climb off of him. I walk over to the chair where my blue clothes are neatly folded and I put them on. The Craylle symbol on my arms. Maybe I could sneak out Sunday, or I can make up a fable to return as quickly to this beautiful kingdom as I can.
"One last kiss before you go." He requests. I oblige him with one. I walk over to the bed and I bend down for one long electric kiss.
"I have to go now," I whisper as I run my hand down his face and then breaking our contact as I head for the door.
He groans again and then speaks softly. "Farewell, little dove."
I smile before opening the door and then shutting it behind me. Quickly I disguise my Craylle blue uniform into black as I make a quick trip to the healers headquarters. It seemed every morning I was there for a contraceptive tonic--the healer jokes around that she should just send up a cooler of these in the kings room. At first I feel embarrassed by her remark, she then feels remorseful and I tell her it's fine. It's was a joke why was I to be offended besides it would be handy to just have a contrastive tonic in his--our room. I hated making the trip every morning, but I'm always scared I'll forget. Raidyn never fails to remind me hours later though. The taste still never really leaves my mouth--my lips pucker just at the thought.
I thank the healer as I hand her the empty glass of the contraceptive tonic as I head down the corridor and out of the dark kingdom and into the forest changing back into the Craylle blue uniform I had sculpted for myself.
"I thought I'd see you here," I say as I see Raidyn's grandmother already in the tree I begin to scale.
Scalling is one of my favorite powers, I can climb and jump anywhere. To me it's really my only way to be free, like I can climb all the way to the sky and become lost and one with nature.
