I lay in his bed completely and utterly breathless. I feel rejuvenated, full of energy and electricity. I haven't felt this good since the last time Raidyn made love. No, this was only sex. We aren't in love, it wasn't making love. It was him helping me out, it was his attempt to give me the energy that he stole from me.
I watch as puts his pants on, I continue to lay there naked. "Fine," I inhale and exhale deeply.
"Give me more than that, Byrd." He groans.
I put my arms over my head and roll my eyes. "Fine, but not cured if that's what you're wondering."
"Fuck." He says under his breath and runs his hands through his hair. He turns from me and then turns back to me, "Do you need me to get you a contraceptive tonic?"
I furrow my eyebrows. "Unless you want a baby, then yes."
"I'm just trying to be nice. I know how much you hated going to the healers last time." He snarls.
"The healers will have a field day with you asking for a contraceptive tonic."
"I do have quite the following." He allows his lips to quirk up.
"Yes, Mr. Loved-by-all. Oh wait, I mean King Loved-by-all."
"I prefer King Raidyn or King Rastifen, but that has a nice ring to it as well."
I hike the blankets higher up on my body and rub my forehead annoyed.
"I'll be right back so we don't produce any illegitimate heirs..." He scratches at the back of his neck and excuses himself.
When I hear the door shut I turn over on my side still catching my breath and calming down all the energy that is now built up inside of me. I place my hand on my stomach at the thought of illegitimate heirs, it makes me sick to think about being pregnant...especially with the king's. I pull Raidyn's pillow close to me and press my nose into the silk pillowcase, I inhale deeply smelling his scent. I close my eyes and exhale.
Everytime we touch it feels so overwhelmingly electric it's hard not to get caught in all the emotions. He thought nothing of it, it was only sex and for him the ease his guilty conscious. I hear the door open and throw his pillow down as I sit up in his bed. I stare at the orange colored tonic in his hands.
"Here you go." He hands the potion carefully to me.
One hand keeps the sheets over my chest while the other grabs the tonic. I chug it down. I make a sour face, "These taste disgusting."
"I'll be sure to put that on my list of kingdom reforms; contraceptive tonic taste." He says sarcastically.
I hand him back the empty glass still sticking out my tongue in disgust. "At least I won't have to drink it again."
"Doubtful." He laughs out.
"What's that suppose to mean?" I bark.
He shrugs. "This is the easiest way to recharge you so every week I'll give you your fix until we find a way to cure you."
"Gods help me," I mutter.
"Don't act like you didn't enjoy it." He rolls his eyes.
"And did you?" I raise my eyebrow.
"Yes, I have nothing to hide." He admits almost bored.
I stand up, his blanket still covering my front side. I turn my head to look out the window. "The storm died down."
"I've been controlling myself more easily these days." He nods.
My attention remains out the window. "Why? Is your kingdom tired of all the storms?"
