Chapter 30

"We're going back in, Samantha." Negan snapped as he grabbed my wrist.

"We need to go. Don't you remember the city being the worst place to be when shit hits the fan?" I asked.

"Don't you see that shit is hitting the fan as we speak and we don't need to be near the damn fan?" He asked, pointing away where more explosions were heard and planes were flying over.

I huffed and pulled my wrist out of his grip and followed him back into the hospital.

"I'll stay with him, you guys go." Rick told me, Negan, and Rosita.

"No. We stick together." I replied.

"Oh, so now you want to stick together." Negan scoffed.

"Fuck off." I snapped before storming out of the hospital room.

I got to the end of the hall before remembering I left my knife in the room. I rolled my eyes for the tenth time and kept going.

Someone had to be in this hospital. It wasn't just four of us in this five story building.

I bit my lip and stopped in front of the elevator.

I pressed the button out of curiosity, even though I knew it wasn't working.

"Get against the wall." Someone growled from behind me.

I slowly turned around before being shoved against the elevator doors.

"Let her go." I heard Negan grumble.

The man's grip tightened around my arms before he pulled me away from the wall.

"Open the doors, Jace." The man ordered.

Suddenly the doors to the elevator opened from the inside and I was moved over to the edge.

Another man stepped out of the elevator before it dropped to the very bottom floor of the hospital.

"What did you say?" The man holding me asked Negan.

"I said let her go." Negan snapped.

"Okay!" The man chirped before letting go of my arms and giving me a push.

Luckily I didn't go far and the man that had pushed me also caught me before I went over the edge and fell to my death.

I felt my heart beating out of my chest before the other man put his hand over Negan's chest.

"Feel that?" He asked.

I stayed quiet and tried to slow my breathing while avoiding looking at Negan.

"Do you feel your heart skipping beats, your adrenaline pumping, your stomach at your feet? Do you feel frozen?" The man continued.

Negan stayed quiet before shoving the man in front of him.

"That's what I felt when I watched my wife almost die because of you." The man spat.

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion before the man holding me let go and pushed me over to Negan.

"Were giving you a last chance to get out of this place. Leave tonight or die tonight." The man talking to Negan, ordered.

I stood beside Negan before watching the two men walk around the corner.

"What was that?" I asked, looking to Negan.

"I don't know." He muttered, turning around and walking back down the hall.
