It was cold. The rain was pouring onto the road relentlessly, making it hard to follow its course. This, and the fact that the only source of light was the shining moon, was enough to convince any sane person not to get into a vehicle and drive. Not even the fox that poked his nose through the bushes dared to come out of its shelter. It seemed like even animals knew that walking the road to White Pine Bay at this time of the night was not a very pleasant experience. And every human being would agree.
Well, except for one.
To be fair, after being lost for about 40 minutes in the dark she did agree that taking a taxi would've probably made the situation easier. But it's not like she was on a fun summer trip with friends. She didn't really have the choice to not pack all of her things and get into her car as quickly as possible, hoping he wouldn't ever catch up with her.
Marion nervously tapped her fingertips against the steering wheel. As she was carefully driving down the wet road she once again found herself thinking about the person she loved the most. She felt a heavy sadness settle in when she realized she would never get to see that person again. But it only took seconds for the sadness to turn into fear, when another "loved one" came to her mind. Her ex-boyfriend, the man that had turned into a monster right in front of her eyes. Marion would've never believed that someone she used to call her best friend could do such atrocities, but after seeing what he was capable of, she was convinced even the devil himself would've felt sickened.
Just the thought of it made thick, hot tears stream down her cheeks. Her already poor vision through the windshield was now even more impaired, but she didn't give a fuck about that right now. She was alone and scared. She didn't know where she was going and her car would run out of gas soon.
Just as she was about to give up all hope, she saw a faint light in the distance. It seemed to be a sign and the closer she got, the more defined the blue neon lights appeared.
Finally, she got to the big parking lot and stopped in front of the sign. She leaned forward and squinted her eyes at it. She couldn't believe her luck as she read the two words that would put an end to her odyssey.Bates Motel.
