Getting out of the car, Marion quickly pulled the hood of her velvet robe over her head. The rain had gotten even worse and it was now forming big puddles on the pebble stone ground, forcing her to carefully walk around them but failing to do so. She accidentally stepped into one, soaking her ankles with water. God fucking damn it, she thought to herself and let out a long sigh.
She quickly stepped onto the front porch of the motel to get out of the pouring rain and looked around, but no human being was to be found. They're either all asleep or this place has been abandoned. She took her phone out of her coat and turned the flashlight on, looking for a sign of life.

Instead, she found the door of what seemed to be the motel's office. Hoping for the best, Marion knocked on it  loudly. Needless to say she got no answer, since all the lights were turned off and the door was locked anyway. To its left though, Marion discovered a doorbell with a handwritten sign above it. "Ring me" it said. Without thinking twice, she pressed the button for about five seconds, making sure she would be heard. After all, this was her only chance to get a safe place to sleep.

While waiting for somebody, anybody to let her in, she turned her head several times, unable to shake the paranoia off. What if he followed me? Marion desperately tried to fight the anxiety rising within her but making it even worse the more she thought about it.
After what felt like an eternity, she heard steps coming through the stone ground. She was startled by the noise and quickly spun around. There was a young man, no, a boy approaching her, holding a key in his hand. He was in a shirt and some sweat pants and didn't seem to care about the rain.

Marion shined the flashlight of her phone directly into his face and the boy held his hands up to his eyes.
,,Woah," he exclaimed, ,,Please don't blind me, Ma'am." He said with a light chuckle.
"Oh my god, I'm sorry!" She said and quickly turned the flash off.

,,No, I am sorry you had to wait Ma'am", he said while unlocking the door to the office. ,,Welcome to the Bates Motel. My name is Norman Bates, by the way."
He held the door open for her and smiled shyly. He seemed to be a very polite person, but something about his eyes made her feel a little uneasy. Marion took a hesitant step forward and noticed him staring at her intently, causing her to break eye contact and look to the floor.

,,Thank you" she said barely audible.
He followed her inside and opened what seemed to be a guest book.
,,Would you like to have a room?" He asked. No shit, actually I just came to say hi and then leave.
,,Yes, I would like to have one. I'm staying for five days." Marion said, trying to cover up her exhaustion and inability to have a polite exchange right now. She was tired beyond belief and just wanted to rest.
,,Five days..." he murmured while writing down the information. "And your name?"
Marion looked around the room and bit her lip. ,,Uhm..." She caught a glimpse of the moon's reflection in the window and spoke up. ,,..it's Luna. Luna Wilson."
He didn't seem to notice that people don't usually think that hard for their names and noted everything without saying a word. He took the key number 1 off the wall behind him and gave it to her.
,,Yours is room no. 1, right next to the office. If you need something you can call me anytime." He said with a friendly smile. ,,I hope you enjoy your stay." He added sincerely.
Marion smiled back weakly. ,,I will. Thank you."

She went to take her bags out of her car and opened the door to her room. Marion wanted to ask herself  how a teenager could run all of this on his own, but she couldn't focus on that right now. She took all her soaked clothes off until she was left with only her underwear. Her mind and body were utterly tired, so once she lay down on the soft motel bed, it only took seconds til she drifted off to sleep.

Faint sunlight came in through the window and caressed Marion's face with warmth. She blinked a few times and tried to take all of it in, the peace, the silence and the left over feelings of the dream she just had. She could still feel their lips pressed together and their hands on each others skin. God, I miss you so much.
