Chapter 03

Arisu stood in the the main hall of the Impetus Elite Academy, an institution where aristocratic and other wealthy children attended. The main hall's walls were constructed from a dark wood and framed by tall granite pillars. Banners hung from the high rafters, creating a bit of a stuck up feeling. Arisu was bored already.

She heard footsteps and turned to face a well dressed woman walking over to her. The woman's long blonde hair flowed out behind her, glowing in the light that shone in from the tall windows. She smiled and waved. Arisu stared at the woman, not because she seemed to be greeting her but because a set of rabbit ears grew from where human ears should have been.

"Welcome back to the Impetus Elite Academy, Miss. Noirdatter. I believe it has been about four years since you last attended here. Correct?" the woman asked.

Arisu stood at attention.

"Yes." Arisu politely said.

The rabbit-eared woman smiled brightly, suddenly her eyes widened and her ears twitched. Glass shattered and she leapt into the air as gunfire erupted in the place where she once stood. Arisu jumped back in shock as a man clothed in a white trenchcoat jumped through the broken window. He pulled out a butcher's knife and ran to where the rabbit-eared woman had landed. She stumbled backwards as he walked nearer. He stabbed downwards, aiming for her throat but she kicked his knife away. He fell backwards from the force of the blow and the rabbit-eared woman leaped up,stomping down on his face, causing him to swear out in pain. He grabbed the woman's ankle and slashed at it with his knife. Blood dripped down as she fell back, dragging herself away from the man.

A second man leaped into the room through where the other man entered. His black trench coat flared out as he He ran towards Arisu and grabbed her by the throat and threw her to the ground. She cried out a little but he slammed his hand over her mouth.

He grinned evilly, his bloodshot blue eyes shown wickedly as he looked into Arisu's hazel eye. His breath smelled of a disgusting scent, something metallic, something inhuman.

"Should we just take the girl and leave?" he asked.

"What else would we do?" the other man responded, cleaning the blood off of his knife.

"Don't you dare!" screamed the rabbit-eared woman. "You don't know what you are doing!"

The white trenchcoat man glared at her.

"You should be happy that we aren't going to kill you." he muttered. He put his knife away and came over to the black trenchcoat man. "Remember to not damage her. She's wanted alive and unscared, Dee."

"Oh Dum," Dee smiled, "I'm not that stupid."

"You kind of are." Dum mumbled.

Dee sighed. He pulled handcuffs out of his trench coat's right pocket and fastened them around Arisu's wrist. He then took out a blindfold and tied it around Arisu's head.

"Is she supposed to have only one eye?"Dee asked.

"I suppose so." Dum answered. "I haven't heard otherwise. I'll go see if anyone else is on the list."

Arisu struggled to get away even though she was blindfolded. Dee pulled her onto her feet and she tried to rip away. He kicked her down and she stopped struggling. He then swung her over his shoulder and walked to the window. He jumped out of the broken window and landed on the freshly trimmed grass on the school's front lawn. He walked towards a black van parked by the school fields.

"Where the heck are you taking me!" yelled Arisu as she twisted and turned in his grasp.

"Who knows?" he chuckled. "Many people would want your corpse hanging on their wall."

He threw her down in the back of the van. Arisu heard a metallic click and flinched. She moved away quickly but felt something grab her neck. A needle-like pain inched into her throat and she slowly fell into the darkness.
