For anyone who loves love. This is for you.

Song: What You Wanted by OneRepublic

--------------

Glancing down at the cup of coffee in your hand, you frown. He loved coffee, he loved this cafe. Shutting your eyes tightly you try to remember his handsome features. Fair skin. The perfect short, ruffled dark hair. His broad shoulders, his perfect muscles. You try so hard to remember the feeling of his touch, of his lips on yours. But you can't. In that moment, you realize you were holding your breath. Beginning to breath again, you fumble with and twirl your long, silky black hair. The hair he would play with. Ever since his death, the stupid plane crash with no survivors found... you haven't been the same. Your cheerful grin, that loving look you would give him... you wish he was here. He isn't.

Cutting is pointless. It only marks your skin. Suicide? Not an option. He wouldn't like that at all. He'd want you to live your life. So you try your best to put on that practiced fake smile. Nothing seems right without him. Nothing at all. You take the collar of his sweatshirt you're wearing, and sniff in his perfect scent, the scent you love so much. You would do anything he wanted. And everything to see him again. A memory comes to mind.

[You are in the cafe with your friends, when you see him. He makes eye contact with you, and approaches. You hear your friends taunting you, for you have always had a huge crush on him. His nervous smile makes everything around you disappear.

'Hey, um...' he murmurs. 'Do you want to go... out?' You freeze. [Oh my God.] You think to yourself.

'Yes,' you grin.]

Smiling at that memory, you remember another.

[You are at a park, sitting on a bench, hand in hand, your head resting on his left shoulder, staring at the sunset. You murmur.

'I think I love you...'

'I love you too,' he whispers a cheery reply.

'I wish we could do this forever,' you say.

'What, date forever? I know we're only 17, but no marriage?' He jokes sarcastically. You gently punch his arm.

'You know what I mean. Sit here, holding hands, watching the sunset.'

'Yeah,' he agrees, then adds, 'anything for my love.'

'My princess,' you correct, gaining a chuckle from him, you giggle lightly.

'Will you promise me something? I promise never to hurt you, leave you... but always to love you, and protect you. Do you promise me to always love me, even through tough times? To never leave me?' He asks, serious again.

'Of course,' you promise without hesitation.

'Good,' his breath tickles your head, before he kisses it.

'I will always be by you when you need me, hold you when your lonely, and cheer you on when you need some extra courage,' you add to the promise.

'And I don't mean to brag, but I think I've got pretty good shoulders to cry on,' he says, causing you both to break into a fit of loving laughter.]

You almost whimper with desire to be lost in that memory forever. You can barely handle being alone in this world, you always dreamed of your future together... that dream was shattered forever when you learned of the plane crash. He was coming home... from a college trip. You remember how you cried hysterically after you dropped the phone in shock. Clenching and unclenching your fists until your knuckles turned white.

The door to the cafe opens, its bell jingling. You see the somehow familiar back of a man about your age. He turns around, looking at you with his loving chocolate brown eyes. It then hits you in the mind and heart. It's him... it's really him. 'How?' You want to ask. But instead, you rush into his strong arms and say,

"I've been waiting for you..."
