Chapter 25

"Did you think I would just leave them in the woods alone with no signal to know if it was me or not?" I yelled at Ashton and he rubbed his head but shook his head no.

"I'm so sorry Ashton! We didn't hear the knock and we thought you were, well someone else." Luke admitted sheepishly.

"No, no, I guess I kinda deserved that. You have a great swing by the way." Ashton rubbed his head again and I couldn't help but laugh.

Then Michael and Luke joined in and suddenly all of us were laughing until tears were rolling down all our faces. It wasn't even that funny but we were all giddy and happy to finally be reunited again.

Once the laughing ceased we all hugged each other, happy to feel each other's embraces once more.

We all sat down on the small couch that was set in the middle of the room, ready to discuss what the hell we were going to do now that I was a criminal of sorts.

"Well he can't go back." Michael said, looking at Ashton seriously.

"I know." He murmured to himself, seemingly trying to think of a plan that wouldn't get any of us hurt, or worse, killed.

Ashton let out a heavy breath before getting up.

"I don't know what to do right now except you three need to stay here, okay?"

"And where are you going?" Luke asked, scooting over to sit next to me.

I grabbed Luke's hand, letting out a sigh of relief at the fact that I could do that without freaking out anymore.

"I'm going back to the kingdom, I'm going to deal with John and then-" he cut himself off and bit his lip. "Then hopefully I'll come back and we can all just...leave."

"And go where?" I asked, speaking up for the first time.

"Anywhere we want. We can get away from here where no one can ever hurt any of us again. Just like I always wanted." Everyone agreed in their own way. It sounded amazing to just leave with nothing but each other. To not have any worries or responsibilities.

"Won't you miss your family?" Michael timidly asked, playing with his fingers.

Ashton smiled sadly and shrugged his shoulders. "Don't you miss yours? I mean if it's for you guys then yes I'll miss my family but this is the decision that will make me happy so I'm gonna take a risk."

Michael and Luke jumped up at that and hugged him, kissing him as well. I got up and laughed when Michael reached a hand out to me.

I gave Ashton a kiss before he pulled away with a huge smile on his face.

"So that's the plan?" Ashton asked and we all nodded. But before Ashton could leave I pulled him back with a hand on his wrist.

"Come back, okay?" I whispered and he rolled his eyes.

"Of course." He leaned in and kissed me once more before opening the door.

"Just be safe." I said before he nodded and left. I hadn't missed what he had said earlier. Hopefully. He said he would come back hopefully.

I wrapped my arms around myself and took in a deep breath before turning around to smile at Luke and Michael.

"So what should we do while we wait?"
