The Staircase

The next day the rest of mine and Angelica's things came and I got stuck carrying it all up because Liberty and Derek were at work and Angelica was looking after Ricky while I carried boxes up three flights of stairs. There was a lot of boxes but they weren't that heavy.

After I had took the last box up I went and walked all the way back down the stairs for what felt like the thousandth time and I gave the guy that drove the removal van the money and then he started flirting with me I started feeling really uncomfortable. Then he said that I had a nice ass, then Jake came and put his arm around me and said "is this guy bothering you, babe", I just gave him that look to say "yeah he is, please help me." Then Jake said "I'm her boyfriend. Stop flirting with her or you will be sorry". The man then said "I'm not scared of you" and chuckled. Then Jake punched him in the face, then grabbed my hand and told me to run.

We ran to the back of the flat then leaned against the wall to catch our breath. Then I realised me and Jake were still holding hands. I looked at Jake and he let go of my hand and then I thanked him. He said "no problem anytime" and smiled. I smiled back, then we made sure the removal man was gone then made are way all the way up the stairs.

We were standing outside my door and then he said "would you like to hang out sometime before school starts?" I looked at him and said "yeah sure. I should probably go and see if Ricky and Angelica are okay". He said "Bye" and then smiled and walked up the stairs.

When I got in I went to go and see if Ricky and Angelica were okay and they were sitting on the couch watching a movie. So I went straight to my bedroom and texted my best friend Mikayla back home about what had just happened.
She text back almost instantly saying "Omg really is he taller than you and I'm so jealous xo".
I text her back saying "yes he is and haha I knew you would be got to go, talk to you later, love you, bye xo"

When I got up the next morning Liberty and Derek had already left for work. So I was looking after Ricky and Angelica.

I was walking into the kitchen while putting my hair into a messy bun and then I saw a note on the counter saying "Hey Kady, thank you so much for everything you've been such good help since you've moved up here and you've saved us a lot of money because we don't need a child minder for Ricky anymore and also two of Ricky's friends (Adam and Calvin) are coming over, Love you we will be back around 3.00pm xx"

It already half 8 and Ricky came through to me and asked if he was allowed Paw Patrol on so I took him trough to the living room and put Paw Patrol on for him then went into the kitchen to make his breakfast.

After he had finished his breakfast it was 9.00 and Ricky's friends would be here any minute so I got him ready and then sat on the couch watching a movie called "The Dog Vampire" with him and then Angelica came trough to me and asked if she was allowed out with some of her friends that had got the rain here. I said "Yeah sure, but don't be back too late"

Half an hour later Ricky's friends came to the door and as soon as I let them in they went straight to the living room. Their mums gave me their bags and then thanked me for looking after them and then they left.

I walked into the living room and asked if they wanted to watch a movie or play a game they all said they wanted to play hide and seek.

After a few games of hide and seek I walked into the living room to see Ricky, Calvin and Adam making a mess with Play-Doh; they had wiped it all over the floor and then as I was sitting on the floor to clean it up they poured orange juice in my hair and then I heard a knock at the door. I answered the door and it was Jake.

I said "heyyyyy", he said "hey" back and then asked if I wanted to hang out and I said "I would but I'm babysitting my nephew and his friends". He looked at me and said "Are you okay and I don't mean to be mean but your hair looks a mess". I looked at him and burst out laughing, then I said "No, not really. Babysitting one three year old is enough not three". He gave me that cute smile he always gave me when ever he looked me in the eyes and then he said "I'll help you if you want I can look after them while you clean up". I said "really, are you sure?". He said he was sure so I let him come in and told him that they were in the living room.
I went through to my bedroom and got a grey crop top, blue jean shorts, and a chequered shirt, then I went for a quick shower and dried my hair then curled it. Then I redid my makeup.

I went through to the living room and Jake was sitting on the couch watching a movie on Netflix and then I realised Ricky, Adam and Calvin were fast asleep.
I looked at Jake surprised and said "did you like kill them or something?", he laughed and said "no I just bored them to death and gave them warm milk. It works with my baby sister all the time".

After Adam and Calvin mum's came to pick them up me and Jake had put Ricky to sleep in his room and then we went through to the living room. Jake asked me if I wanted to hang out after Liberty came home and I said "yeah".

About 5 minutes later Liberty came home and was kinda surprised to see Jake here. I went up to her and asked if I was allowed and I would tell her later about why Jake was here. She agreed to let me out and then me and Jake left.

Jake said he was going to take me to this park that was just around the corner.

When we got to the park no one was there so we just sat on the swings.

Jake then said "no one ever really comes here anymore so sometimes I come here to take my mind of off things". I said "What type of things do you need to get your things off of?". He said "School and my family". Then he said " If you don't mind me asking how did your parents die?" I looked at him and said "it's fine and me and Angelica were in the back of the car and my mum was in the passenger's seat and my dad was driving and I was arguing with both of them and they both started shouting at me and I started shouting at them back and my dad took his eyes off the road to look at me and he crashed". He looked at me in a sad way and then said "I'm sorry to hear that. What were you arguing about?". I said "when I was fifteen I was told by my doctor that I had anorexia and he wanted me to go to this support group thing to try and help me and we were on the way to that but I never wanted to go to it in the first place I had always got made to go".

We sat there staring at each other for about 2 minutes and then it started to rain. He then said "I like this rain. It's the kind of rain where it's warm but the sky still goes dull and it's kinda refreshing". I looked at him and said "me too" and then we both smiled.

After about 5 minutes of sitting in silence he asked me if I wanted to go home, I said "yeah sure".

When we stood up I went to go walk but Jake took my hand and pulled me closer to him and then kissed me and of course I kissed him back.

He stopped kissing me then held my hand and we walked home holding hands.

When we got outside my apartment he held both my hands. He then asked me if I wanted to go to his house because no one was home. I said "yeah sure".

When we got inside his apartment we started kissing and then he lifted me up and carried me up to his room (he also had a penthouse and his bedroom was upstairs). He put me down and we started taking our clothes off and then he started kissing my neck and collar bone.

I woke up and my head was on Jake's chest then I looked at my phone and i had a missed call from Liberty. I quickly got changed and then left without waking Jake up.

It was only about half 10 when I got in and everyone else must have been asleep because all the lights were off, so I just went straight to bed.
