Lauren plopped her bag right next me, as if she regularly did this everyday. She gave everyone a quick glance, waved weakly, and then continued to eat her lunch.

"Ummm, what are you doing here?" I said with annoyance.

"Who is this?" asked Kaylee with a hint of excitement. Don't get excited, she's the devil in disguise.

"I'm Lauren. I'm new to this school and the only person I know is Alexandra", she said innocently. They can't believe her. Do they know her true personality?

"Yo! I'm Max and this is John", he said as he pointed to John. "I'm glad to see Alexandra has made a new friend finally." They were accepting her already. I cannot let this happen. I grabbed Lauren's hand harshly and pulled her away from the table and into the library.

"Hey what was that for!" Lauren said as she pulled back her hand.

"Look. I know you're fake. You were mean to me this morning and now you're Miss.Nice, it doesn't work like that." I whispered frantically.

She didn't respond and instead gave me this weird controlling look then left. I didn't follow her because honestly why would I?

I eventually stopped thinking about Lauren when class had started. Man, who knew school could be this boring. Before it was so easy. Finally the torture had ended. As I walked out of the classroom a broad figure stopped me in my tracks. It was Shawn.

"Hey Alex", he said trying to sound seductive. He was the most popular guy in school and had visible taken an attraction to me. Honestly he was a slut. A man whore who's goal was to get every girl at school into bed and I wasn't falling for it.

"What do you want? I have a job to get to" I said with no emotion. I couldn't waste it on Shawn.

"I want to take you on a date", he said trying to sound like a gentlemen. But I knew his true motives.

"Sorry but I have to go", I said as I sprinted off. Glad I'm done with that for today. I better get to the library. As I'm walking through the hallways, I spot Lauren trying to hide from something. It's as if she was watching someone. What a strange girl.

I've never had a crush in my life. Weird, right? I have just never felt attracted to anyone and that's the honest truth. I don't think I'm asexual; I just believe I haven't found the one yet. Ever since I started school, I focused on my studies. I didn't make friends because I didn't need them. I only had Angel and she satisfied all my social needs.

After work had ended, I walked towards the hospital. Angel had to be awake by now, but I had this strange feeling. Like someone was following me. I didn't think about it too much. I was focused on seeing Angel.

"Angel!" I basically yelled with enthusiasm," I'm so glad your okay."I hugged her with all my might.

"Alex", she said in an almost whisper as she hugged me back.

"I'm so happy to see you." She pushed me softly back, grabbed my face, and kissed my cheek. She's been doing that since we were kids.

"You don't know how badly I have wanted to talk with you. When are you coming back to school?", I said impatiently with an idiotic smile.

"Woah, slow down Alex", Angel said with an understanding smile.

"It all depends on how I'm feeling, but by next week I should be good", She said. Today is Tuesday. I'm going to have to wait about 6 days!

Then she took a more serious tone as she said," What did the doctor really say? And where is my Mom?"

Her mother had unfortunately cracked her head open. Which honestly doesn't make sense to me because she literally only fell from about 5 feet but that's life for you. The doctors didn't have the money to operate on her, so in the meantime they had put her in a drug induced coma. Now I have to worry about paying for two people!

I took a gulp and then said," Your Mom is in a coma. She fainted when she saw what state you were in. It is bizarre how she could crack open her skull by simply falling but the doctors say stress had a big contribution to it."

I took a breath and continued," You have a year to live without the heart transplant. But the doctors say your condition could easily get worse, so the transplant should be done as soon as possible. I'm working hard to get you the money, but I don't know if I can do it."

She grabbed my hands and said"Don't worry about it too much. If God says I'm ready to leave I'll go. But if there's a will there's a way."

She let go of my hand and began to grab at her heart. Her face showed pain and she managed to softly whisper,"Get the doctor."

I ran out into the hallway and shouted for the doctor. He sprinted towards me and called for the nurses. The doctor checked Angel's pulse, vital signs, and managed to subdue her. She was now in a resting state and I knew I had to find the money quickly.
