Dear Diary,
This is my list of things I do to be ok after anything sad or upsetting. In other words, my guide to recovery.
1. Write in a journal about why you aren't happy.
2. Drown your sorrows in ice cream. Diary, don't give me your crap like "That isn't healthy," or "Don't eat your problems," I'll do what I frickity-darn want MOM.
3. Talk to a real person about why you aren't happy. Get help from someone you trust.
4. If you can, explain why you aren't happy to the person you aren't happy with. If you can't do that, ignore this. If they're a decent person, they'll at least attempt to listen.
5. Be hugged.
6. Take as long as you need to cry. A good cry is all you need sometimes. It can really be a slap in the face to get your stuff together.
7. More crying maybe.
That's all I can think of really, but it always works for me. By "it" I mean all of these, not the code word for doing the nasties like it was in fifth grade.
I guess I didn't want to forget about everything that's comforted me before.
Goodbye dearest Diary.
