Of Man to Men

184 6 1

Verse

He sent that message down the river

to see a soul embark,

and said he never could remember

seeing such beautiful art.

The words that he used to know

fell into a daze,

and his emptiness grew to flow

into a watery grave.

Well his big children keep on yelling,

and they tear apart the town.

And if they're made of hell of heaven,

they would have known by now.

the shapes of their fumes burn,

and blow me away.

oh the names that they choose to learn

are all that remain.

Chorus:

they can try what they can if they must,

but I bet it'll crumble to dust.

of man to men of  falling to rust

Verse:

they were born with all their answers

neatly tucked by their sides

by some blind enchanter

with hands miles wide.

As they moved they'd face

all of these walls,

and find themselves placed

for their eventful fall.

He taught his children to follow

every word he said,

and left his heart inside a bottle

that fell off the end.

They found something new to hold

to worship as God,

and they'll follow his rule until

it carries them off.

Chorus:

well they can try what they can if they must,

but I bet it'll crumble to dust.

Of man to men of falling to rust.

We give them the want and the will

then go in sweetly for the kill.

Of man to men of staying still.
