Sans later that night when sleep alluded him like it always did—he found himself sitting at the cargo doors they were opened he had watched Turian file out not wanting to take the risks that Undyne was prepared to take for income. They were cutting their loses. He had his knees pulled his chest his hood yanked over his head in the chilly air. He could see the steam rise from his nose and mouth as he breathed in and out slowly, watching it play in the harsh lights of the port. Listening to the delicate quiet of late night/early morning moments before people start stirring and ruining the silence.

"Sans, are you spying on us or something?" Nohi stopped looking guilty—like the others who rushed past not raising their heads. To look at Sans or one another—they didn't want to know who their fellow comrades in arms were who decided to flee the ship.

"You know I never sleep Nohi—I guess you are amongst them then?"

"I got a family back home...I got enough to get me there I hope."

"I don't judge man—plus if I had family not on this ship I would do the same thing."

"So—you are staying with all that crap in there earlier—it's a suicide mission Sans."

"I know—but then again my brother is loyal to a fault and he is going to go where captain Undyne goes...so I have to stay to make sure he stays out of trouble."

Nohi's shoulders slumped. "Well then I guess this is goodbye. I will pray to the spirits for your safe return." He extended his hand as Sans looked up the classic smirk in place as he stood and took his friends hand shaking it then gripped his shoulder in the other.

"I will see you around Nohi."

"If not this life then the next."

Sans smiled as he took his leave—he felt like he should be here to witness this—felt that someone should and why not him. He leaned against the frame of the cargo door and frowned out into the distance watching the fleeing forms as the slipped out of view. Well that was a lot more than he expected...ah well. He rubbed his hand over his fringe knocking his hood back. Jabbing his hands into his pockets he gave an irritated rumbling grunt...oh well. He kicked the door frame for good measure and closed the cargo doors behind him.

He walked the cargo hold for only a lap then headed upstairs he would head to the training room and take out some of his frustrations...it wasn't like he could be mad at them—they were the smart ones. They had a family a way out. He was walking the halls silently watching his converse covered feet when he ran into Undyne.

He stumbled back a step to see her looking haggard like she had little sleep. The strong self assured expression was weathered and faltering.

"Sans?" her voice didn't even have the normal boom to it.

"Oh hey Captain..." Sans felt dread wash over him he knew she was going to ask why he was awake.

"So—were you leaving?"

"Hell no. I got to keep a look out for my brother—can't trust you to watch out for him can I?" he chuckled shrugging his shoulders his hands back in his pockets, the little joke to attempt to lighten the mood failed...

"That was a low blow—I take it you saw some of the ones who left?" so that's why she was still awake it was gnawing at her to know how many had slipped out in the late hours or early hours in the morning.

"Look Captain with all due respect I think it's better that you forgot about it till morning..."

"That bad huh...shit." She rubbed the back of her head looking up at the ceiling...
