Bata pa lang ako I've always dreamed of having a luxurious life. I was used to fresh air, green, horses and all you could see in a typcal rural.
Tumingala ako sa isang matayog na building, this, this is the life I've always dreamed of. The haste, the noise, the booze and the lights.
"Goodmorning, how may I help you Ma'm?" Salubong sa'kin ng nasa front desk.
"I'm here for the interview for secretarial position."
The lady in the front desk pointed me the direction to the HR.
I was outside the room waiting for my name to be called. There were more or less ten people I was with.
The anxiety is eating the shit out of me.
"Rosalinda Incencio," a fine young lady got out from the room and called my name.
Chin up Rosalin, isipin mo nalang ang kahahantungan mo kung hindi ka matanggap sa trabahong ito.
After the interview I wasn't so confident that I'll get this one. I've been here in Manila for a month now. I applied in God-Knows-how-many company. Yet, no one called. No one dared. Graduate naman ako, sa communty college nga lang sa'min. My parents couldn't afford me studying here in Manila they don't even want me to attend college. "Mabubuntis ka rin naman sa huli" was her line when I asked If I could pursue my study. Sa huli, ang tiyahin kong sugalera ang nagpa-aral sa akin. Atleast ang Auntie marunong parin mag-isip 'di tulad ng nanay kong puro paglalasing at paglustay lang ng perang galing sa tiyo kong nasa ibang bansa ang alam.
After the interview, I went straight my Tiyo's apartment which is located somewhere in Makati. I admit it alright, mahal ang gastusin at bilihin dito sa Maynila. Umalis ako ng may less than thirty thousand pesos sa probinsya(na nanggaling pa kay Tiyo) at hinding hindi ako babalik doon ng luhaan at zero-zero.
Pride at ego ko nalang ang mayroon ako at kapag bumalik ako doon ng mahirap pa rin ay magiging
kahihiyan saakin iyon.
I'd do everything to achieve my dreams and there will be no stopping.
