I woke up the next morning feeling refreshed. I remembered waking up last night and feeling terrible. But I also remembered falling asleep on the floor, not on a bed. I opened my eyes and looked around. I was laying in my bed. I wasn't in the same clothes as last night. Someone changed me and brought me to my bed. I then realised that everything seemed brighter and my senses seemed intensified, almost better than normal. I moved the covers back and got out of bed. I slid on some flip flops and walked out of my room. I walked down the hall.
At the top of the stairs, there was a mirror. I looked and my brown hair looked darker. It had some dark streaks in it but it also had my lighter brown. It looked good. My eyes were brighter. They were an emerald green but now they are a forest green. They looked almost the same as the leaves on the trees outside. I walked down the stairs and could smell food being made. I followed the smell and saw Aunt Veronica in the kitchen. She was standing with her back to me, hovering over the stove.
"Hello Cassie. How are you feeling?"
"I'm feeling fine. Do you know who brought me to my bed last night?"
"That was Gage." Gage changed my clothes?! "Gage didn't changed your clothes, dear. Your mother did that but she wasn't able to lift you without waking you."
"Oh. Well I'll thank her later and where is everyone?" My mum was an early riser but she wasn't here.
"Jake, or your father, took her and your brother out to dinner. She was going to bring you but she didn't want to wake you."
"Wait, what time is it?"
"It's around 10. I figured you would be getting up soon so I started to make you some breakfast." She turned around and had a big plate in her hand. I saw pancakes stacked up, bacon and scrambled eggs to the side. I suddenly heard my stomach growl and she chuckled.
"Here you go, dear." I took the plate and sat at the island. I happily munched on the food when Gage and Eric walked in, both shirtless and sweaty. I saw Eric smirking and realised that I was staring. I blushed and concentrated on my food. I never looked either of them in the eyes. I finished my food and set my plate in the sink. I washed it and put it in the dishwasher.
"Hey Aunt Veronica, where is Gioia?" Eric asked.
"She was sleeping over at a friends house."
"Who's Julia?"
"Not Julia, Gioia and she is my daughter. She is about 7."
"Wait so how do you pronounce it?"
"Joy-ah."
"Joy-ah."
"That's it. Now I need to pick her up, do you want to come with me?"
"Sure Aunt veronica, just let me get changed."
"Alright we will leave in about 30 minutes."
I ran up the stairs and grabbed some jeans and my favorite shirt. I quickly pulled them on and brushed my hair. I pulled it up in a ponytail and brushed my teeth. I ran downstiars and saw aunt Veronica at the door with her car keys.
"Ready to go, dear?"
"Yup let's go get Gioia."
We walked outside and I sat in the passenger seat. It only took about five minutes to get to the house. We got out of the car and walked to the door. The door was opened right before Aunt Veronica knocked.
"Luna." A woman in her late 20s said with her head bowed.
"No need for formalities Dani. Call me Veronica." She said warmly. Dani smiled grimly and led us into the den.
