Cassie's POV

After I finished vomiting, I quickly walked back outside. The fresh air calmed my stomach a little bit and I felt better. I can't believe that the girl was dead. It looked like an animal attacked her. If an animal attacked her then it must not be very safe around here. That means I can go back and live with my friends!

I gazed around at the old house. There weren't even windows and the door wasn't very stable. I sighed. This place needs some serious cleaning. Mom will probably have me work on the inside. I would have to clean all the rooms and repaint them. I already knew what color my room was going to be.

My mom quickly rushed outside and she had my brother in her arms. The luggage was trailing behind her.

"This is not the right house! We need to get out of here now!"

I didn't argue with her I grabbed some of the luggage and we headed back to the car. I quickly loaded the luggage into the trunk while mom strapped Noah into his seat. I closed the trunk and hopped into my seat next to Noah. My mom started the car and drove away. I decided I should tell mom what I saw in the closet.

"Hey mom?"

"Hey Cassie."

"Mom this is serious. I saw a body in my closet."

"Are you sure it wasn't a mirror?"

"Yes I'm sure because I don't have grey eyes."

She mumbled something to herself but I was able to catch it.

"It must be the Alpha's child, only the descendants of Alphas have grey eyes."

"What's an Alpha?" I ask. She said it like I should know what it meant. Although Sam had grey eyes too. Eh, who knows my mom is getting old and talking nonsense I thought to myself.

"Nothing dear, was it a girl or a boy?"

"It was a girl. She had long black hair. The torso had bite marks all over it and it was disgusting." Remembering the body almost had me throwing up. I held it back but my mom probably noticed my queasiness.

"Honey, there are some water bottles in the back of the car. Grab one, it will make you feel better."

I reached back and grabbed the water. I drank the entire bottle and felt a little better. About ten minutes later, we pulled up to a very large house. The windows were there and there was just a glass door in the front. There was a garden alongside the pathway to the porch. On the porch, there was a two-person swing. I think I would rather stay here than the old creepy house. I got out of the car and looked around. The yard was gigantic. There were little kids playing there.

Why are there little kids in my yard? Strange, my mom will tell me later.

The answer will be revealed soon.

Why am I hearing a voice inside of my head?

I didn't hear it again so I just shrugged it off. I grabbed my two suitcases and walked to the front door. There was a woman waiting inside. She opened the door for me and ushered me in asking me questions.

"Are you Mariah's daughter? How was your trip? Do you remember me?" I felt overwhelmed suddenly and I set my bags down. I admired the room and I forgot about the woman standing next to me. I looked at her and could sense a faint recognition. Like the girl at the other house, she had grey eyes.

Don't think about the girl. I repeated to myself in my head.

"What girl sweetie?" Oops, said that out loud.
