The Grim Reaper's Girl

It was a chilly Wednesday afternoon and Joo Yeon was sitting somewhere in her classroom. She was looking out in the window basically she was just killing time for it was already break time. Suddenly she heard someone whispered in her ear. Startled, she looked around the classroom to search who it was then when she looked down at her table, a girl was hiding below it.

"Hey! Stop calling me like that, you're giving goose bumps you know! "She cried then looked back at the window. "Hehehe.. I'm sorry! By the way, why are you here? Where's Yeon Mi and Gaeun? "The girl asked smiling, "they're eating.. "She sighed. "You should eat too! You know when I was still studying here, I always long for break times because I can eat and I can go to the rooftop to hang out with my friends"she replied. "I don't care" joo yeon answered with no energy, "Every time when the calendar strikes February, I always feel depressed, irritated, sleepy and soul less. Even though I was born on the Valentines day, I just feel like someone died or anything.. " she sighed again.

"Well, that's not a good sign! " the girl added, "by the way, we've been friends for 2 years but you still don't tell me how you died and your name" joo yeon asked. "Hmm.. It's a secret you know! "She said then vanished. Joo yeon's friends then came with satisfied faces on.

"Oh my, today's the first day of February that's why she's like that" Gaeun shook her head drinking fruit soda, "We should throw her a surprise birthday party! "Yeon mi cried. "Try it then I'll kill the both of you" joo yeon replied quickly.

-Time Skip-
Joo yeon got home and she went out to the convenience store for she wanted to buy some soy milk and she was scared for it was already 10:30 PM. She wasn't afraid of the drunkards walking late at night but she was afraid of the ghosts who will follow her to her house.

When she was walking back to her house, some ghosts tried to block her saying they need help and some were begging. "Ugh!!! Stay away from me! Don't follow me or else I won't talk to you or help you guys! " she said while the ghosts stopped bothering her. Joo Yeon praised herself for being that brave to fight them off.

Grim reaper's POV:
"We're dead because of you, Mr. Lee" my junior who is Choi murmured, I got mad at him and thought to just slide it. What is wrong if I can't make the dead tot he afterlife because they want to watch over their loved ones and instead I let the people who wants to die go to the afterlife. I mean, those who want to go the afterlife must go and those who don't want then they mustn't go.

Now, here comes the chief district. "Grim reaper Lee & Grim reaper Choi please come see me in my office, NOW! "He emphasized the last word. All right, all right! This really sucks. Even though, you're already dead you'd still fear that you'll die because of punishments present in the afterlife. We went inside the chief's office and I was a little bit nervous thinking of the consequences. "(Clears throat) Mr. Choi & Mr. Lee I congratulate you for bringing 15 souls tot he afterlife who were very desperate to come here but you still failed your assigned mission which is to let the old man come to the afterlife"he said looking straight into my eyes.

"Chief.. What will be our punishment? " Choi asked shaking obviously, "Our punishment? Our? I'm thinking.. Choi! You will wash all the dishes for two days and you get to rest for 2 months because I'm giving you two a gift and a punishment. But for you, Lee! Hmm.. There's a 17 year old girl who will be hit by a truck on the valentines day and she'll be in a comatose state but she is kind of weak so she'll die. My punishment for you is that you must let her come to the afterlife"he said smirking.

"Another mission? I just need her to come here? "I cried, "Chief! Why did you hive him such an easy task?? "Choi asked. "Silence! (He banged the table) it won't be easy, Lee! If you'll successfully do it then you will be promoted as group manager and if not.. "He paused. "If not? "I asked.

"You won't be a grim reaper and the high powers (GOD) have agreed to put you and others to hell if you don't nail the missions we gave you.. It's because of your sins, it was a heavy sin you made back down on Earth, Lee" he said and it felt like the whole world shattered and my hands felt numb
