Once everything was unpacked Sandra’s and Karlie’s parents gave hugs and kisses goodbye and finally left the two girl alone.

“Oh my gosh, I can’t believe were finally alone!” Sandra exclaimed.

“I know this is so exciting!” Karlie replied.

“I hear the team is going for ice cream after the soccer practice tonight,”

“I can not wait, I love ice cream,”  Karlie said, “where are we going?”

“Dairy Queen, its right outside of the camp,’

            “Yes, I love Dairy Queen,”

“Let’s go check out everyone else’s rooms,”

            “Sounds like a plan,”

“Let me just grab my phone,”

            “Okie dokie,” Karlie said.

Sandra grabbed her cell phone and grabbed her room key because she knew Karlie wouldn’t carry her key around this week. The girls went around to their teammates’ rooms to check out how they unpacked. Afterwards their coach, Katherine, called everyone into the hall so they could head to the cafeteria to eat dinner.

“Are you even gonna try something new here,” Sandra asked Karlie.

            “Ew no!” Karlie exclaimed.

“Figured, maybe they’ll have something you like tonight,” Sandra said trying to be optimistic.

            “I doubt it,” Karlie said.

Sandra sighed. The girls walked to the cafeteria excited about this week. They walked into the cafeteria and there was a lady beside the door counting each girl that walked through.

“Why is she counting us?” Karlie asked.

“To make sure no one else is trying to get free meals like you girls,” Katherine said.

“Oh that would make sense,” Sandra said. They walked inside the door to see different stands having each different foods. “Look Karlie maybe you’ll find something to eat here,” Sandra said.

“Look there’s pizza and fries, I might actually eat here,” Karlie said. Once everyone got their food and drinks the team grabbed three tables so the whole team could be near each other. When they finished they could go back to their rooms to rest until they had to catch the bus to go to practice tonight. Karlie and Sandra were walking back together talking about the food at the cafeteria and how good it was.

Now Sandra and Karlie were gathering their soccer equipment so they could catch the bus.

“Do you have you key?” Karlie asked.

            “Yeah?” Sandra said confused

“Good because I’m not taking mine,”

“Figures,” the girls locked their room and headed to the bus. Tonight would just be getting to know the coaches and scrimmaging. Their team was lucky enough that they wouldn’t have to combine with another school to have enough to play. Sandra’s team had brought 15 players and a coach. After about an hour the whole camp would go back by bus and get changed and do whatever they please. Sandra and her team were hurrying back to the dorms to get showers and grab money to go to Dairy Queen.

“You can take a shower first because your quicker,” Sandra said.

“I was taking the first shower anyways,” Karlie said.

Sandra sighed. When they got back to the dorm they took their showers and grabbed their money and phones so they could go to Dairy Queen. Sandra’s team began to walk off camp when she received a text from Darren.

Darren: U *itch! How could u tell any1 we had a thing

Sandra: I didnt! Y wat happened?

Darren: if u didnt tell any1 how did Morgan find out?

Sandra: I swear I didnt tell anyone besides Karlie

Darren: she must have told some1

“Karlie did you tell anyone about this,” Sandra asked pointing to Darren and herself.

“No not at all,” Karlie said.

“How did she find out?” Sandra questioned.

“I swear to god I didn’t tell anyone,” Karlie said worried.

Sandra’s heart was plummeting to her stomach. She didn’t want ice cream anymore more she was sick to her stomach. Just when she thought it couldn’t get worse she received another text from Darren.

Darren: were nvr tlking again. So dnt bother txting me. Bye.

Sandra’s heart broke entirely then. She knew she couldn’t cry now because people would begin to notice and ask. She knew she couldn’t tell anyone. She walked with her team in a daze. She couldn’t believe Morgan found out. Now she would never have a chance with Darren. Sandra figured if she sent a text to Darren he might reply.

Sandra: I’m sooooo srry. I dnt knw how this happened.

No reply from Darren. He must have been serious. Sandra didn’t know how she would function. She felt like she was dying inside. Everything that night went by so slow and Sandra wasn’t even paying attention the whole time.

Once they got to Dairy Queen the girls ordered. “May I have a small blue raspberry slushie?” Sandra asked the cashier.

“Yes, ma’am,” the cashier replied “Your total is $1.59.”

Sandra handed the cashier a five and waited for her change. She moved aside for the next girl to order. Sandra waited a few minutes and then the other cashier gave her, her slushie. Sandra began to sip her slushie slowly. Her stomach was still not very happy. The whole team returned back to the camp so they could go to sleep tomorrow. None of them were excited that they would have to wake up early this week to eat breakfast and go play soccer. Karlie and Sandra brushed their teeth and got themselves tucked in bed. Sandra plugged her phone in so it could be charged tomorrow even though she knew no one would text her. She went to sleep with tears running down her cheeks.
