Katie Winston
2nd December,1871.

We are moving into a new house today.
I'm very happy because this house will be much bigger in size than our previous one.
It's in the New Sapphire Street.
No. I guess it is the New Hampshire street.
Whatever it is, I'm super excited.

We will be leaving in an hour.
Mom has packed all the stuff into boxes and Dad is getting them stuffed into a truck.
I didn't let them put Mr Bobby in the box. He might feel scared.

Mr Bobby is my pink colored, super cute teddy bear.
I'm turning six this year.
Mom thinks that I'm just making drawings in this diary.
She thinks I'm too young to write this well.
She doesn't know that I have a friend who helps me.
I met her in the new house when we first visited it.

She is really nice.
Her name is Wendy.

The house I'm moving in is huge.
I can't wait to be there.
Also I have Wendy with me so I won't get bored.

Wendy is a sweet girl.
Though she has lots of marks and bruises on her face.
Maybe that's why she doesn't have any friends.
But she has me.
I love her.
She helps me with drawing, writing, painting, playing blocks and everything.

Her mom is sweet too.
She isn't like my mother.
My mom doesn't love me as much as Aunty Emily loves Wendy.
Well maybe because she is my step mother.
I miss my mom. Though I don't remember a lot about her, still I want her to be with me.

The last time when we went to see our new house, Wendy showed me her playing area.
It was a place which she calls the attic.
I don't know what an attic means.
She showed me a board game.
It looked interesting.
It had numbers, letters written over it.
But we didn't play with it that day.

Another amazing thing about our new house is that we have caretakers as well.
Aunt Sarah is way too sweet.
We have met only once yet I feel so attached to her.

Okay.. now it's time to go to our new house.

Lisa's POV:-

So this is Katie's diary. But how did Hadley find it ? I couldn't see it anywhere in that house.

She befriended Wendy.
Why would Wendy be friends with Katie?
She hated everyone.
She killed all of them.
Also a 5 year old writing this well in a diary. That seems surprising.

Okay I get it.
Amelia didn't love Katie and that's the reason Katie liked Emily because Emily was a loving mother.
Katie longed for that love.
But if Wendy was Katie's friend, why would she kill her?

Without thinking more about it, I flipped on to the next page.
