A/N: Guess who's back from the void. I was looking at the story and one of the characters is based off my ex bf who I essentially cut out of my life. I didn't want the dynamic the character and the main had so I changed the character for another. Enjoy Aro!! He's like an older brother to Shy. Enjoy the story!

"July 1, 2019.

I remember when we had names, but it's all a blur now. I still remember when it happened though! When he showed up.

It was a bright autumn day, I was having fun with my friends Aro and Puns, we were talking in a park near our school. Suddenly, there was a crash, we turn to see...him. I felt my thoughts start to blur. He was wearing a mech suit, his grey eyes determined as he said, 'Hello everyone, I'm the Genius, I'm now in control.'

We wondered what he meant, but only for a second before he pushed a button on a remote; next thing I knew, I couldn't remember anyone's name, I turned to my friends, they looked just as lost as I was. I looked at my phone, and it wouldn't turn on. The genius walked up to me, took my phone and continued walking.

'Wait.' I ran towards him. 'Did you just kill my phone?' I struggled to keep up with him.

'Actually I "killed" all technology as you put it.' He looked at me condescendingly.

'But wait, what about computers?' I ran up to him.

'Nothing will work without my permission,' he said pushing me out of his way.

'People will die though,' I exclaimed getting up.

'Who will die just because their computer doesn't work?' he scoffed.

'Hospital patients,' I told him, shocked by his insensitivity, 'They-'

'Those people are weak, and serve no purpose to me; let them die. Besides, it'll end their suffering.' He looked at me harshly, 'Any other comments?'

'No,' I squeaked, scared to look him in the eye.

He left. I went to meet up with my friends. I found them not too far off, chatting. I joined them.

'Hey guys,' I said as I approached them.

'Hello, human,' replied Aro, his obsidian eyes forced into calmness.

'Give her a break, Man, she's just as scared as you,' Puns told him, a slight quiver in his voice.

'What's the deal?' I asked, 'I thought you guys would have re-exchanged names by now.'

They looked at each other, then back at me, 'Didn't you get the notice?' a concerned look on their faces.

'No, The Genius took my phone. Speaking of The Genius, he reminds me of someone, I don't know who though.' We pondered and shrugged. 'My na-' my head got jerked back.

'I'll stop you right there, Shorty,' ordered The Genius, 'Since you missed the message, I'll tell you in person; it's illegal to tell someone your name, doing so will result in imprisonment and memory wipe, both you and the person you were talking to,' his armoured arm was wrapped around my shoulder, he forced my chin up, 'Do I make myself clear?'

I lowered my eyes, 'Yes sir.'

'Good.' He left, I held back tears of fright. Puns hugged me. Aro gave me an 'I told you so' look.

This all happened a year ago, since then life has been dull, and terrifying. Racists and bullies are having the time of their lives labelling people, and everyone I've met feels lost and incomplete, and all of us live in fear of The Genius. I still can't help but feel like I know him, no idea though. I miss having a name. I wanna say it. But I'll get arrested. Does writing it count? I don't care! My name is Cr-"

"Writing it counts, Shorty," The Genius whispered. She shrieked and fainted.
