Emerald held a hand over her nose the crate smelled like fish oil, but her gaze was set on a cloth bag on the crate. It was partially closed yet from Emerald's position she could see jewels. Not just any jewels but rare jewels.. Emeralds! Emerald's favorite jewel was ironically emeralds. She loved all shades of them, any shapes, with any other jewel too. She broke her gaze at it scanning the area before inching closer into the bushes outlining the town and unloading area.
'I shouldn't... But It's emeralds..' Emerald thought to herself, 'No, even if they are emeralds it's just not right' Emerald was about to go back to the tree but stopped as her eyes rested onto a very familiar symbol on the cloth bag. It was of two pickaxes crossed with a round jewel above it. Emerald's eyes widened. "Ore Family Mines?!" Emerald whispered out loud. Instantly she bit her inner check. 'Well if it's that wretched jewel company it's okay, after what they did to me and my family..' Emerald shook her head chasing the cursed memories away. She reached her hand out again to grab the bag when something crashed nearby she jumped back into the safety of the forest.
"TIM!! AGAIN?!?" A angered voice yelled, Emerald nearly bursted out laughing yet she covered her mouth with her hand nearly biting it. She peered out to see that Tim had accidentally dropped a crate. 'Well 'Tim' thanks for distracting who ever that is' Emerald thought, she was gonna use this to her advantage for once. 'Okay, Emerald grab the jewels and lets get out of here. Not to hard, right?' Emerald once again reached out and this time grabbed the bag of jewels. Than carefully she sneaked back to the path and to the river's little rocky area at the head of it.
Emerald rested on a flat rock at the base of the rocks. She yawned her emerald green eyes reflecting the sun like deep pools of green water. She picked up the bag next to her hiding in the cool shadows of the rocks. She opened up the bag there were many jewels in the bag, yet most were of diamonds, gold, and emeralds. Emerald's eye catches something odd in the bag, she stuck her hand inside the bag grabbing something that just didn't fit. It felt smooth and cold in her hand and she took it out. She stared at the new object in her hand, it was an amulet. An emerald amulet platted with gold around the edge and a gold chain. "Wow.." Emerald whispered. It didn't look like any amulet she saw before. The emerald seemed greener than any emerald she had seen. The gold seemed thicker and stronger than any gold she had seen too. Everything about this amulet looked sort of brighter and bigger. The emerald definitely was larger than any emerald Emerald had seen before. She weighed it in her hand. It felt light and heavy at the same time. 'Okay something about this amulet isn't right.. I am not gonna wear it.. I'm no idiot..' Emerald stood up dropping the emerald amulet into the bag and went over to her tree. There was a slight crack in the base it looked like it didn't lead any where or looked like you could get in it, yet you could. Emerald pushed the wood slightly as she got throw the crack into a small room in the tree. It was just a hollow spot in the tree yet it was the first floor of the tree. Emerald went over to the ladder which her and Nickle crafted carefully. She climbed up the ladder up and up to the main floor, Nickle wasn't there. "Nickle!" Emerald called and went down to his room, yet he wasn't there...
