After saying all the goodbyes and see you's', Usama,Ali and I went back to my place but during our way, Maham called me, she said,'you did not forget, did you?'
I looked towards Usama who was driving. He looked at my face for a moment and judged my expressions.
'I did not forget.'
We took a detour.
We were back at my place by 3.00 am. Usama and Ali slept at my place. We had some deep talks but were sound asleep by 4.00 after dad came in and asked us to sleep because it is going to be hectic ahead.
The morning came without a warning. My mom woke us up at 10. Ali was always a sound sleeper. We had to kick him a lot before he woke up. He finally woke up after a struggle of half an hour. Whoosh.
We were done with our morning meals by 12. We all went to the venue of wedding to check up on all the things. Dad was already there, love him so much. Then venue was beautiful.
It had an amazing stage. A red carpet rolling down the centre. The chairs surrounded the many round tables there. The stage was decorated with white flowers. It was Ayesha's favourite. I was just so lost in the uttermost perfection of it, I did not realise Usama and Ali were missing. They told me this after my wedding where they went off to.
As told by Usama
Well, Maha messaged me to come at Mirror's. Mirror was a beauty salon. Ayesha was supposed to get ready from there. We both went there. Maha, Maham, Ayesha's mom and her friends were all there getting ready.
Because men were not allowed in the salon, I called Maha to inform her that we were here. Maha came rushing. Her hair were all messed up and her make up was incomplete. She was looking like a witch.
'What happened?'
She was tensed and was panicking.
'The ring, Usama, the ring, Ayesha entrusted it to me, I can not find it.'
'What?'
'Here are the keys to my apartment, go and find it at any cost, counting on you.'
Without a word, we left to Maha's apartment.
Her apartment was a mess. It was huge though.
We were supposed to find a ring in this pile of books, clothes and I don't know what else. After few minutes of looking here and there, Ammar called me,'Where are you?'
I started shaking and getting nervous.
'Ummm...errr.. pick...p-picking up sweets, will be back soon.' I hung up quickly. After two hours of searching we found the ring it was in a shoe, IN A SHOE. GOD DAMN YOU MAHA.
It was already 6.00 p.m. We were not ready and we had to be there by 7.00. The whole world was breaking apart. I informed Maha to calm down and that we have found the ring.
It was so late and we both weren't ready.
We rushed and I really don't know how, we managed to be there by exactly 7.00. It was quite a scene.
Back to Ammar
'Where were you ?'
'Just doing some chores' Usama answered in a haste.
They did not want me to panic today.
We left the 'groom's room' and went into the main hall and sat on the sofa that was by the stage waiting for Ayesha now. It was the longest I have waited in my entire life
*The 18 year Ali continued : 'and you know what? Maha and I are gonna decorate your room and put all the props, you know' he winked.
'No way!!' The 19 year old me said as I laughed.
But it really happened. Maha actually decorated my room.*
The wait was over. Ayesha came walking down the red carpet. It was a long walk. I could not see her from the other end. As she came closer, the view got prettier and more beautiful. Her father held her hand. Her eyes were holding mine and god she was looking beautiful in that white gown, the veil that covered her beautiful hair I could not wait to run my hands through.
She was perfect. My heart was racing.
We wore each other's rings and the time has come,
'I, Ammar Khan, take you, Ayesha Mehmood,to be my lawfully wedded wife,to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part.' She repeated this too and finally, I was hers and she was mine lawfully. She was my wife, my lady and J was her husband, her man. It was the longest I have stared into her eyes. Ecstasy filled me. She was so happy too. It was evident, the tears made it.
Naah, we did not kiss. Sorry, but she was very much conservative in these matters.
In the middle of my vows, I remembered Ali told me this whole scenario that night. The same happened again. He must be a sorcerer but that asshole lied. He is a liar.
Huh.
'I'm so happy', I whispered underneath my breath.Author's note:
Okay so readers, this all is what ALI ACTUALLY TOLD AMAAR THAT NIGHT AND IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING IN FUTURE. DON'T FORGET THAT. I USED A DIFFERENT APPROACH OTHERWISE IT WOULD'VE BEEN BORING. :D
