As we were eating the deer, Sakura looked at me. "So, Yuki. What kind of dragon are you, exactly?"
I sighed. "Well...the sorcerer made me part ice dragon."
Sakura raised an eyebrow, as if she didn't believe me. "An ice dragon? Are you positive you aren't related to Fubuki, the dragon that lives on Mount Blitz?"
My heart skipped a beat. I had to lie. I couldn't let her know who I really was. "...Fubuki? I've never heard of him."
Sakura sighed. "Alright. I guess the sorcerer that cursed you got some DNA or some from Fubuki, and used it on you," she slightly mumbled under her breath.
I slightly scratched my head. "Um, so why did you ask me about Fubuki?"
Sakura sighed. "I'm sure you'll find out in due time," she said before taking another bite of her meat.
"Alright," I mumbled as I finished up my own.Once we were done, we found a good place to leave the remains of the doe we didn't eat, and left it.
Sakura sighed. "Alright. Why don't we start making our way to Sanda? If we get going now, we should get there mid-afternoon in a week."
Sakura nodded. "Granted...it'll take a few days to do so, and really, the main part of the journey will be getting across Aita Field, as it's so big."
I nodded. "I see. In that case, let's get going."
Sakura nodded. "Right."
With that, we continued our way down the mountain.===
Just as Sakura had predicted, about two days later, we got to the Samui River.
We then quickly set up camp. The next morning, we were ready to continue on around 7, and Sakura looked at the river. "Great," she mumbled. "The current is really strong right now, and the bridge is out...so I have no clue how we'll be able to get across..."
Since I was still in my human form, having changed back while we were eating, and I shoved my hands in my pockets. "Um...about that," I mumbled.
Sakura looked at me. "Hm? What is it, Yuki?"
I sighed. "Well...have you forgotten about the fact that I am part dragon, even though it is a curse...?"
"Oh!" Sakura exclaimed. "How did I forget about that?" she asked, scratching her head.
I slightly chuckled. "It's fine, Sakura. That being said, do you want to ride across the river on my dragon form?"
Sakura nodded. "Yeah! Not only does it sound like fun, but it's really our only choice."
I nodded. "Right. Now, I will have to change back once we get across. The main reason is that if I'm in my dragon form for a long period of time, I'll be unable to change back...as well as the fact that I don't want the sorcerer to find me."
Sakura nodded. "It's fine, Yuki. I understand. Now, why don't you change?"
I nodded. "Right."I then put a bit of distance between the two of us, and closed my eyes, crossing my arms against my chest to form an 'x'. My body then began to shift, and I could feel my wings and my tail growing. Next thing I knew, I was on all fours.
When I opened my eyes, Sakura was already looking at me in wonder. "Wow...I've actually never seen a dragon before...and...you look amazing."
I felt myself slightly blush. "Gods...I never thought anyone would tell me that..." I mumbled under my breath, knowing that Sakura wouldn't be able to understand me.
"Hm?" she looked up at me. "Say what?"
"You...you can understand me?" I asked, slightly adjusting my wings.
She nodded. "Yeah. I mean, you're normally a human, so it would make sense that I'd be able to understand you in your dragon form, right?"
I slightly hesitated but I did nod. "...alright, yeah. I guess it makes sense. Sakura then climbed on top of me, and we flew over the river without any problems.
After I had landed, Sakura jumped off of my back. "Wow....I never knew that flying could be so amazing!"
"Well, I'm glad you liked it, Sakura," I said with a slightly chuckle. I then closed my eyes, and within about a minute, I was back in my human form.
"Alright, let's continue on," Sakura sighed.
I nodded as I opened my eyes. "Right."
With that, we continued our way down the mountain.===
About two days later, we were walking through Aita Field, and I saw a great stone wall, as well as the top of some type of building, and I stopped and stared in awe. "Wow...is that Sanda...?" I asked, looking around the open field.
"Well, not really," Sakura said with a slight chuckle. "As soon as we got off the mountain, that's when we entered Samarando. That up there...that's Sanda's Castle Town. Sanda is the capital of this kingdom. Basically a bunch of shops and stuff are set up there. And tnat building you see, that's the top of Castle Kazan, which is where King Leo and all of the people he's appointed live. That includes my father, so I live there as well."
"That's...amazing," I mumbled under my breath, not sure what else I should say.
Sakura sighed. "Honestly, it isn't as hyped up as it sounds. I mean, sure it's cool that I get my own room and all, but that's about the only cool thing. I have to go with my dad to a bunch of war council stuff, which can get pretty boring."
"Oh, alright. Anyways, weshould move on."
With a nod, we both began running towards what I assumed to be the main area of Sanda.Once we got to what I assumed to be the entrance of the Castle Town, a man dressed in attire very similar to the soldiers who were on the mountain just the other day, stopped us. He saw Sakura, and gave a small nod, as if he knew her. "Ah, Miss Sakura. Glad that to see that you've returned. Who's this young man?" he asked as his gaze shifted to me. "I can't say I've seen him around before."
"Oh, afternoon, Kyle," Sakura said with a smile. "This is Yuki. I found him in the forest on Mount Blitz. He's on the run from a sorcerer and seeking refuge."
"I see," Kyle said with a nod. "I'm sure I'll see you around. Stay safe, alright?"
Sakura nodded. "Of course. See you around."
Without another second of hesitation, Sakura led me into Sanda's Castle Town.
