HMHE III
This is no ordinary day anyway, so I need to make sure to fix this mess.
I made a quick stop at the grocery store and made sure to check if I got everything I need. I'm no pro in cooking but because this is something special, for my special one, I going give it my all. I changed into my apron and pulled my hair in a messy bun. I'll be making chicken alfredo and some coffee jelly. That's all that my powers can do, and that will surely take me a couple of hours since I'm a walking mess.
I adorned our living room and bedroom with flowers. Yes, flowers. It actually smells good. Candle light dinner ang ambiance. I look at the time and saw that it's half past 6. He should be here any minute. I choose to wear a sexy black dress and put the necklace that he gave me for our wedding. Sino'ng lalaki ang hindi bibigay niyan? I giggled at the thought.
I settled myself on our couch adjacent to the door. I want to see his reaction the moment he opens the door. After a couple of minutes, narinig ko ang susi at ang pagbukas nito.
"Hon, anong--"
Agad-agad akong tumayo at lumapit sa kanila. "I didn't know you were bringing a guest."
"Oh." "This is Ms. Janelle Ludwig. Our new client."
"Client." I said in a venomous tone. "Gabriella Marie Tan." I didn't even bother offering my hands. What ticks me the most was that evil smile that she's been putting up since she stepped in my house.
"W-What? What do you mean?"
"We are to meet the rest of the investors for dinner. We are actually running late when I remembered that I forgot the portfolio for the proposed building for the Ludwig expansion." He kissed me on my cheeks before he ran upstairs.
I'm not that rude not to even offer her a seat, so I did and made sure to guard her every move.
"Ludwig? I've never heard of your business before. Must be new?" I said making sure to note the sarcasm.
"Our business is mainly in Germany. But my uncle wants to expand the old one here and so my dad asked me to lead the expansion."
I nod as an acknowledgement. I was battling on whether or not to stop Xavier on stepping out of the door and talk him out on cancelling this project and kicking this long legged slut out of my door. But I don't want to be immature. I'm very happy of. He can be out of town for a day or two, or be overseas for a week. I don't worry.
"Beautiful house, Gabriella. Sino'ng architect? I'm planning to start my own house here too."
"A friend of ours."
"I like the interior. This is just like how I like mine too."
Ingratang babae.
"I can't blame your husband for wanting to come home every night in this beautiful home." She stood and started walking in our living room. She passed by some of our wedding pictures and some from our cruise.
"Would you mind giving me the calling card?"
"Of who?"
"The architect." She said a matter-of-factly. "Oh, sorry, forget about it. I can always ask Xavier."
The way she was throwing those smirks and smiles, she's asking for a war.
"I couldn't agree more. Ang sabi nga nila we are a match made in heaven dahil sa mga pinagdaanan namin."
"Really?" Sa sobrang obsess nga ng iba, they even resorted to killing me. Could you believe that?" I shook my head and glanced at our wedding band. "Well, you know what they say, ang masamang damo, matagal mamatay.
Gustong-gusto kong tumawa kaya naman I inwardly bit my cheek. Just as I was about to make another comment, Xavier descended the stairs.
"I got it."
"Tumatanda ka na ba, Hon? You're becoming forgetful now."
He flashed a million dollar smile before kissing the top of my head. "Hindi naman. Busy lang masyado. -Ang dami kasing pending projects. Sabay-sabay kaya nakakalimot. And I'm still young, you silly." For a moment a forgot na may higad kaming kasama. I made a quick glance at her. Not a flirt like you can break my marriage. Mamatay ka sa inggit.
"We better get going. Hindi madaling kausap ang mga iyon. Masyado kasing old fashioned kaya hirap makinig sa mga modern innovations."
"I understand. You go ahead."
"It's nice meeting you, Mrs. Ludwig."
Tumaas ang kanang kilay niya at alam kong I hit a nerve. "It's Miss Ludwig."
"Oh, sorry." I smiled at her innocently, while my husband is still oblivious of the war that's unfolding in front of him.
Before he can even start the engine, I knocked on him window which he rolled down. I made eye contact to her before giving Xavier a kiss. "You forgot my kiss, hon." I said seductively while wiping the marks on his lips. I better buy more of that red lipstick for that biatch. "Drive safe."
I'm left with an empty house and a table full of untouched dinner. Now, what am I going to do with all of this? He's having dinner out, so I'm sure hindi na siya kakain pag-uwi. For the past couple of months, ganito ang naging sistema namin. Our schedules just won't match.
"I guess I have to celebrate alone." I poured myself a glass of Pinot Grigio. "Happy Anniversary."
