All throughout the rest of the week, Khanu wouldn't stop trying to talk to me, while Jung Ho ignored me completely. Every time I tried to talk to her, she always walked away to somebody else. And I couldn't blame her; who would want to be friends with a liar?

I was walking home when I heard Khanu's voice call out behind me, "Hey Luna! Wait up!" I was already in the alley that led me to Izumi and Bapu's house, along with all the other soul-less people that lived here.

"You're not to call me Luna," I say to him when he walks up to me. "I thought you would've known that."

"Ouch, did the Ice Queen freeze your heart today?" asked Khanu, his pale blue eyes teasing. "Relax. It's not like anyone is going to hear us."

"You don't know that!" I say in a hushed yell. "Besides, we wouldn't even need to talk if you hadn't followed me home!"

"Geez, chill out, would ya? I just wanted to ask you something that I just thought of."

"And what would that be?"

"It's kind of personal, but....do you ever feel Avatar Korra, you know, stirring inside you?"

"What kind of question is that? And I don't know! Maybe...maybe sometimes. Why?"

"Well, I've never met an Avatar before, so I don't know what exactly goes in inside them." I roll my eyes.

"You make it sound like I'm a mutant."

"Hey, I just want to make things not uncomfortable."

"By asking uncomfortable questions? Yeah, like that's a good tactic."

"At least we're speaking to each other. I see how Jung Ho gives you the cold shoulder." I huff.

"I wouldn't have lied to her if you hadn't made me go to that party. And what's the point in parties, anyway? All anyone did was stand and talk."

"Trust me when I say that's the only party you'll want to be invited to. Other types of parties are rather...psychotic."

"Look, can I leave now? Izumi will get mad if I'm not home on time." He gives me a hurt look.

"Trying to get rid of me, are you? Fine, I'll see you tomorrow. Oh, and don't forget. Our half-year test is next week!" And with that, he walked away from me, not turning back once.

I had forgotten about that test. In fact, I'm surprised I did. I had arrived right before the dojo had started its 12 month school year. Next week, Katara would be here to pick me up, and sail me to the North Pole.

That night, I laid awake, thinking about the previous Avatars. I got up, and turned on the kerosene lamp. Pulling out Katara's bag from underneath a pile if blankets, I reached in and pulled out the penguin-seal bag. Inside was a long box.

Inside that was a waterbending scroll. From the note that was inside the box on top of the scroll, it belonged to Katara's namesake, Katara. She gave it to Avatar Korra, and in turn, she gave it to Katara.

I unrolled the scroll like I had done so many times before. It was an interesting scroll. It had 3 forms on it, all of which I had tried, and succeeded at doing.

I read it, thinking about Avatar Aang. Even though I would never have a connection to him, I still tried to find out as much about him as possible. Here's my list:

•He saved the world from the Fire Nation at 12

•He married Katara (the first one)

•He and Fire Lord Zuko created Republic City where benders and nonbenders could exists together. And also have a variety if benders.

That was it. Most information about the Avatar was about Korra. And I knew why. She had started a new era by letting the spirits and humans live together.

I sighed and set the list down. Perhaps when I go to the North Pole, I think to myself, I'll be able to find out more about Aang and the other Avatars. I snuggled deep under the covers, and in moments, I was asleep.

"Luuuunnnaaaaa..."

I turned away from the wall and to the sound of the voice. I cracked open my eyes to see a bright blue light in front of me. I squinted, trying to make out the figure.

"Who..who are you?" I whispered.

"Do not be afraid, Luna," the voice said. It was a woman's voice, full of confidence and strength. I rubbed my eyes. Finally, my eyes got used to the light, and I could make out the figure.

It was a spirit with a blue aura, but I could make out the different colors in her clothes. The woman had medium length hair tied up into a high ponytail with 2 on either side of her face. She had on a light blue short-sleeved shirt, cut of at the shoulders. She had navy blue glove-like sleeves on, only they were cut off right before her shoulders and they didn't cover her fingers. She wore brown pants, a water buffalo hide around her waist, and ankle high boots.

The outfit was similar to the one Katara had me try on and show Mako and Bolin. She looked vaguely like the statue right next to the harbor. And defiantly like Katara.

"You're Avatar Korra," I say in utter awe. She smiles.

"I am. And, please, call me Korra. 'Avatar Korra' sounds too formal."

"Uh, ok. But...um, what exactly are you doing here." I glanced over at the door and saw the pelt was still pulled over the door.

"I am here to warn you, Luna. As Zen Whi may have let slip, there is a war going on. I won't tell you the exact details simply because it's not my place to."

"So, why are you warning me?"

"You need to know for when you go up north. There have been many...disagreements."

"So what am I supposed to do? Beg them to stop fighting?" Korra laughed.

"No," she said, "I don't think that will work. However, I do advise you learn about these problems, and think about the best way to fix them." I nodded, knowing that that was all she would tell me.

"Ok," I whispered. I stood up, and we bowed to each other. Before she left, Korra saw Katara's penguin-seal bag. She smiled as if there was an inside joke. Then, she disappeared into thin air.

Hey guys! So, there's been a bit of a change in plans. I intended to add more action to this chapter, but then realized it was long as it is. Therefore, I am updating Chapters 9 and 10 together so you can get the action I promised. Enjoy!

Ciao!-Lauren
